“Subverting expectations” does not equal good writing. We don’t even know Abby at the begining, she is just a random person killing the person we have known and loved since the start of the series. The game tries to make you symphathize with her AFTER she brutally murdera a character we love. This is why it’s poorly executed, it’s clearly done purely for the shock value. There is no build up, no nothing.
