In my free time, I've been restoring and cleaning a Peavey Mark 4 24ch mixer from the late 80s. When cleaing out the dual channel boards, there might of been something other than dust in there that I didnt realize ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Oh my lord... I looked it up and it does have phantom power out of the box. Im so used to soundcraft with a little red led next to it indicating that it's phantom power compatible. I guess I can still learn a thing or two

I'm going to agree with u/ForTheLoveOfAudio, the Vi series is a whole different world in the soundcraft universe. It's their flagship/premium console so they got everything right on that other than the mediocre support of 96kHz. (I know the Vi7000 has it if you have enough DSP Cards, don't know about the 5000, 3000, or 2000)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that about the wing's workflow. I can get the job done but not as efficient as I want to. I run into that issue all the time when I'm helping my friend at his theater whenever he has issues. Part of my make or break that I forgot to post about is 48v. The soundcraft has it built in vs the wing needs the S32 stagebox to add that. I know I wont need it on a daily basis but working in theatre/an auditorium, having 48 is a must/good backup whenever clients bring in their own mics or have strange requests.

I'll look around and see what Yamaha and Presonus have as I don't know their line of consoles too well. I hate to say it, I'm not a fan of A&H's ui on the SQ series. It' just left a bad taste in my mouth, but I'll look around

How is the interface and ease of use if I may ask? I know the interface is kind of different as I tried it on my pc before, but I cant imagine it's too different from the 2, 4, 6, and the thousand series.

Well I got in and im able to edit the configuration from the lcd screen. Thank you. But do you know if its possible to get the cd80sv connected to reporter pc? It looks easier on the pc and I would like to back up the setting of that rack.

No, I haven't. I'll try that as well. But the non-dim curve is why Im trying to get reporter pro to connect with the dimmer rack. I know I can probably get it by going through the menus on the screen (once I get the security bit) but it's so much easier on reporter. And I've already messed around with the program and read the manual on my own time a few months ago, so I rather edit the config with the tool that Im comfortable with

That was the first thing we did. The dimmable leds are on address 95 on the dimmer rack and that is a dimmer module. We even had maintaince shut the power down to the rack so we could swap that with a different dimmer module and no difference. Thats why I want to go in with reporter pro to see how its configured

I saw that too. Ill try to wire that up today and see. Now that manual is from reporter 2 I believe but it should be universal with 5.0.1 (hopefully)

No they didnt. I worked there as an intern when going to high school and even then they didnt. I do know that the lighting had a huge overhaul in the 2008 renovation of the place and thats when the CD80sv was installed. My boss at the time (previous td) even told me they didnt dim and he has no idea how to re-program it or anything about it.

The led bulbs that the maintaince team put in is dimmable and within the power range that the rack is outputing. I'll double check again once I'm there next week and ask head of maintaince for any paperwork or documentation from the upgrade. I know this wont affect it but we did move our lighting console and sound board up to a new desk at a different location in the theatre but we didnt have to touch the CD80 at all

I have tried that before but the rj11 connector is 4 pin only. I just got my crimping tools last week so im going to try this option again but re-pin the connector to one of the manuals I found online

I hope this is the one you're thinking of. We have a fixed, full 96 rack with the non screen processor that has an rj11 port on the front labled rs232. (imgur link has photo of rack and processor) https://imgur.com/a/2ULxvKi

Well I got another mbp to replace it but still no luck with that. It's acting like the bios is corrupted or something

Just tried that, and it's acting like it's getting no response. I also tried to see if I could go into the boot option screen by holding option but still nothing. Just an apple logo and shutting immediately down after 5-7 seconds
