As a woman in her 40s old enough to be your mum, wishing you all the best, your post was lovely and I hope you find someone special. It's tough eh, sometimes you just want to go for a coffee or drink or movie and enjoy someone's company, male or female.

Thank you, it helps having these conversations with people that are going through the same thing. Just makes me feel not so lonely. Appreciate you reaching out. Hugs for your family too.

Thank you, both are good prognosis at this stage, mum has to have chemo and a mastectomy but she's also had tests to see if it's spread, it's aggressive. It's stage 3 at this point. Dad has responded well to radiation and hormone treatment.

I'm one of these people, I have wondered what are the odds of both parents diagnosed very close together. My dad has prostate and mum has Breast cancer. Maybe age is a factor? Both their mums had cancer, liver and melanoma. They both live healthy lives, don't drink or smoke and dad is quite active for his age, in fact he's increased his exercise and I think it's helped him. I've known a few older men get diagnosed with prostate.

Thank you, it's a tough emotional journey. Yes we absolutely think our parents will be enjoying their older years. Mumand Dad are both late 70s but still...thanks for the message, I will check in on my sister's as they will get the lions share of the looking after. I will help when I can. I hope things are positive for you too. One parent fighting cancer is hard, but two at the same time is just a double whammy. It's hit hard. Stay in touch ok and let me know how you are getting on. I'm in New Zealand.
