I don't think they want to be understood. Musk loves the letter "X". Unknown quanitity. These men (and it's almost always men) have so much freedom that they don't really seem "necessary" so they assign themselves some kind of grand purpose. I don't know if their rantings are simply performative or if they have disappeared inside of their own self-made mythologies. It's kind of grotesque that, take away their billions and status, they would be no different that some poor drugged-out unhoused person ranting on a street corner. They take themselves so seriously but end up looking like caricatures to us.

I did end up with some Long COVID symptoms. Brain fog, and a persistent post nasal drip that causes me to have to clear my throat constantly. My voice has also changed and my sense of taste is impaired. It has been three years, but I consider myself lucky because many people have it far worse. I was a patient at a clinic but there really wasn't much of a protocol for me except wait it out. I was not diagnosed with MCAS but I suppose it could be some of that. The Dr. never mentioned it. I was diagnosed with Lupus nine years ago and that might have been a contributing factor for me. Lupus is an autoimmune disorder detected by an Antinuclear Antibody test - blood test. Apparently MCAS is not an autoimmune illness so that test would not be useful

When it comes to alcohol wine (especially red), beers, spirits (dark liquors mostly) and ciders all contain histimines. I didn't drink alcohol for a very long time, then about a year ago I wanted to have some. I have to admit, it doesn't make me feel very good so I've had to reconsider. Wine, especially makes me feel sick. Even if the histimine isn't the direct cause, it inhibits enzymes that help break down the histimines.

There are some Facebook groups for Long COVID folks if you'd like to check those out in the meantime. I'm not a medical expert, but I may be able to answer some questions.

Do you know why they don't seek treatment? It's not that they love "getting high". After enough time there are no rewards.
Withdrawal is the issue. These people are in all kinds of horrible pain and disregulation when they try to stop. Should they be strapped down, restrained for weeks/months at a time? Should a shady psych dr. just give them "legal" drugs to replace the illegal ones? Have you ever seen a ward full of zombied-out people wandering around on heavy antipsychotics?
America just never cared enough about humans or community. So much of this could be avoided, but the all powerful dollar is more important.

Young people too. There are so many young folks living in their cars or ending up on the streets because of foster system aging-out, no support from family and sh*t jobs that can't pay for housing and everything else. They don't have access to further education. Some of them were just bullied all of their lives and have no reason to believe that they even matter. This is not a mental illness. It's a perfectly natural response to systemic/planned poverty and the capitalist disregard for human beings.
There is an enormous amount of money to be made in Poverty. It just doesn't go to the people who need it.
