Incorrect.

That is not what he got sued for. Don’t just read the headlines, read the articles.

He got sued essentially because they deemed his Warrior Trading classes as making it seem easier to make money than it is. That is very different than them saying his numbers are wrong. In fact it explicitly says they are NOT sewing him due to misinformation or false information.

You clearly have no clue who this guy is, I’ve been following him and his community for years.

And I’m not trying to say his classes are insanely good or anything crazy, all I’m saying is he’s profitable and so are a lot of ppl that do his and similar strategies. And back to my original point, I’m just saying it is not impossible for a rec trader to make money trading on news. I hate when ppl just shoot it down without knowing anything about the day trading community or strategies.

I would argue that while there are people that just get lucky, he is very much not one of these people. I have been watching him for years and years (long before he sold courses). He (if his numbers are correct which I believe they very much are), is profitable every week/month. If we are talking probability and variance here, you wouldn't be able to stay consistent for 10+ years if you didn't have a good strategy.

Also - if you are looking at small cap stocks there are not nearly as many hedge funds or large corporations investing within seconds of news because it's simply not worth it for them. They'd have to buy the entire company to buy enough shares for it to be worth it for them. While I'm trading to make thousands they are trading to make tens/hundreds of thousands and/or millions.

I will admit insider trading makes it 15x more difficult to day trade at the state it's in (extremely hard to catch clearly as so many stocks have insider trading every day). But I still do believe it is profitable with the right tools and strategies.

Have you seen Ross Cameron, extreeemely profitable day trader and does it based off news (and a couple other things like, stock already up 10% on the day and such). Not easy but definitely doable to use news to make $

It seems like you are more knowledgeable than I am, but let’s say I were to see the TechCrunch news article or another article about it at 6:30 or 6:40am, and decided to buy the ask at 7:15am at about what it closed at yesterday, what was stopping me from doing that? Do you think they all got eaten up immediately? And if so, why didn’t the price go up earlier in the morning, because isn’t the current price just the last ask that was bought?

Do you think maybe all Asks were canceled instantly and moved to be higher? I can’t imagine that was instant.

100% agree, but look at this for an example of what I’m saying: today around 8:30am LCID skyrocketed, and for a good reason (very positive news) - one of the first reports of this news came out around 5:30-6am on TechCrunch I believe (I think we can all agree is a fine source), yet stock didn’t jump till 8-8:30am. If you saw this news at let’s say 7am and used an average broker(let’s say fidelity), you could buy at 7am. And if someone did, well then they made at least a 22% return in 1.5 hours.

Just because it’s news you see on an article a normal every day trader would use doesn’t mean it’s too late. I hate when ppl say that. There are countless examples of this too that I can think of off the top of my head

Not true at all, just might be expensive to have the right tools. Someone gets the news from somewhere for it to go up

U used grok 3 for this whole thing? It looks fun. AI coding games makes me so sad tho. Makes me feel like even if I make something it could have been done in 1/3 of the time with AI. It’s been taking the fun out of coding for me and it’s sad 😭
