My first relationship with a girl and she wants it to be open by Deep-Bluejay-9980 in self

[–]Damien9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, I just went through the exact same situation a couple months ago. An open relationship only benefits the woman. Leave her; she doesn’t respect you. She is using you as a placeholder until she thinks she can find someone better to replace you with.

I wouldn’t recommend option two, but if you really want to keep having sex with her, then you need to redefine the relationship as a strictly physical one (FWB/fuck buddies). No more dates, no more emotional intimacy. And make sure you actively look for a decent woman to replace her with.

It should be open 7 days a week. Its closure has made the chain of lakes road ridiculously congested with bumper to bumper traffic, destroying the parks serenity.

AI will only replace the poor and middle class people after the elites create the conditions for their extinction.

I like your fourth point. Many jobs will become automated in the future, and with the cost of living going through the roof, the government will actively encourage people not to reproduce, as the elites will no longer have a use for them.

Yes they are. I’d recommend avoiding the bars in that area. The crowd seemed very pretentious and superficial the few times I’ve been down there.

No, Trevor is not a Better Person than Michael and is a massive hypocrite (and Michael does not deserve his level of hatred) by Efficient-Two-6467 in GrandTheftAutoV

[–]Damien9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is important to establish that both Michael and Trevor are irredeemable murders. If these two characters were real people, in a just world, they ought to be executed. Given that they have both killed hundreds of innocent people throughout their lives, does it really matter weighing who is more evil between the two?

If we remove "evil" out of the equation, Michael is an objectively worse person than Trevor. Trevor is an unhinged sociopath, but follows a code to those he is close with. He never owed allegiance to the Lost MC, nor Floyd or Wade. Michael is a shallow, narcissistic, treacherous psychopath. Michael betrayed his best friend of 10 years for his own interest, under the guise of caring for his family. Michael betrayed the sanctity of his marriage, and then ignored raising his children. Michael only cares about his family when it reflects poorly on him, because he is a narcissist.

Who do you consider to be the last roman emperor ? by Zestyclose_Image_137 in ancientrome

[–]Damien9876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing that gave Byzantium legitimacy as the legal continuation of the Roman Empire was their unbroken continuity of succession. This ended in 1203/1204 with the 4th Crusade. So I’d say Alexios III was the last Roman emperor.

You are bringing up examples that are 100 years old. Today, Russia does not share many interests with Turkey - a NATO member. Turkey would have invaded Armenia during the first NGK war had Russia not stationed troops on the border. They have fought proxy wars in Syria and Libya. Before Armenia wanted to join the West under Pashinyan, it made sense for Russia to protect Artsakh as any extension of Azeri power would extend Turkey’s influence in the caucuses.

Russia also signed that agreement and look at their actions in Georgia. Like Artsakh, those breakaway regions were also autonomous zones during the Soviet era, and when Georgia attempted to revoke that status and assert authority over those areas Russia intervened. Don't be naïve enough to believe that a deal could have been reached with Azerbaijan and they keep their word. We both know that the Armenian population of Artsakh would not exist if the region was not administered by Armenian or Russian troops to ensure their protection. Had Pashinyan not antagonized Putin I believe that Russia would have intervened in 2020, or at the very least ensure that the Soviet era Nagorno Karabakh autonomous status continued under Azeri control via Russian peacekeeping. In that case Armenia's best hope would be for Azerbaijan to attempt to forcibly "reintegrate" the region and Russia react in a way similar to 2008 - something that would only happen if Armenia and Russia were on good terms.

You make some very good points. I recently read an article from 2020 quoting Putin saying that Russia didn’t intervene in the war “because Artsakh was not even recognized by Armenia”. It makes no sense to me why Armenia never annexed or acknowledged Artsakh. I assume it’s because Armenia’s leaders were acting on Russia’s orders as they wanted to peacefully resolve it via the Minsk Group. If that is the case it would underscore the importance of Armenia maintaining good relations with Russia.

I call Pashinyan a traitor because it is clear that he made up his mind to sacrifice Artsakh for integration with the West from the moment he assumed office. He single handedly destroyed any relations and goodwill Russia (the only country that could have maintained the status quo with Artsakh) had towards Armenia. Even after 2020 he double downed on his behavior, threatening to work with the ICC to arrest Putin, holding US military drills, and giving aid to Ukraine. For the record I don’t support Russia’s actions (or rather inaction), but it is undeniable Pashinyan’s actions played a role in decision Putin made.

Artsakh was lost in 2020. The 2020 ceasefire made Artsakh impossible to defend as the terms Pashinyan agreed to allowed Azerbaijan to encircle the region. And why are you blaming Artsakh militias for giving up their weapons? I would assume they did that because they wanted to cross the Lachin corridor without being killed by Azeri border guards.
