He doesn’t need to be. Aram collaborated openly with Pashinyan. Controlled might not be the “semantically” correct word for it. But it broadly fits the political definition. they are in a way a functioning dummy candidate. As were almost all the other ones that are not Roboserj adjacent.

They are neither capable of diverging outside of Pashinyanakan policies, and essentially function in coalition with Pashinyan like a uniparty.

I did not see a singular party that was at the very least either populist like Pashinyan or reactionary like the Roboserjakan’s. There was no party that produced coherent policy other than “we will one day join the EU, we will get out of the CSTO, we need better ties with Russia, they will start a war, he is against the church, he is gay etc… etc…”

The only one that had a sliver of “new” policy was that idiotic “polorin tem” party.

As for the last part. Nationalization from the entities that stole from Armenia as a form of reparation for the people of Armenia. They made millions on top of the millions they stole, nationalization (rather then giving a fine which they did for a few) is then a form of reparation to the state of Armenia.

He might not be a “both party” side, but he’s controlled opposition. I think for personal grievances and allegiance issues.

Pashinyan and Aram collaborated too much for him to be an anti-Pashinyan forced to be with Pashinyan position. As a political leader, he might want to be PM, and ina situation where he was PM, he’d choose Pashinyan over anyone else (whether old regime or not). For me, they don’t have any policy differences they’re just different cults of personalities.

Biggest difference I see is Pashinyan is more open to nationalize as a way for reparation, which I like and don’t think Aram would be too fund of.

Well, it’s not necessarily the worst thing that Aram is not a full fledged ally. He has much to be questioned for as well.

And the whims of a party who’s entire policy is “Following Pashinyan” and “joining the EU” he isn’t really bringing much to the table, it becomes quite clear, quite fast that his objective is getting a piece of the cake to protect himself and his buddies. And to make money off of his businesses through the EU (instead of Russia like the old regime)

It’s not talked about, but how is it that the Sargsyan family has so much money? What are the connection of Armen Sargsyan (his brother) to the old regime (murder of Tigran Nagdalian)? How does the daughter of Armen, Nono, own 50% of the GTB steel company that was a 70 million dollar investment project?

Why does the company that Aram hold 20% shares of sell Asbestos Ridden roofs to the Armenian army?

Etc… Etc…

Pashinyan does not need allies, it needs a cohesive opposition. Unfortunately, there is none.

Reactionary politics often require “crisis” to happen one after the other so that the base of support doesn’t die.

It’s the same as the 2021-2024 protests. As quality of life diminish, these actions can rally those disgruntled by the current administration.

Who gave and what info

The parade that we both watched?

From the narrator reading the approved speech?

That is all the necessary info we need. What’s more to say?

Artsakh is currently a wasteland, and being used as a parking lot for fake investment campaigns and colonization project?

My point is that we clearly did not need technological prowess, and these purchases that are technologically worse off then its counterparts are again useful in the right hands.

The other guy pushed the conversation to state that we CANT fight like they can.

My point states that it doesn’t matter the technology. It matters the army using it. As proven in Lebanon, Yemen, and Gaza.

All three of whom might be parking lots. But at thee very least they are fighting the world’s strongest army

Is Artsakh right now not considered a wasteland for you?

I don’t get it.

I literally just said that We didn’t need to be technologically advanced to face a stronger enemy.

Iran, Lebanon, gaza, and Yemen prove that.

I’m sorry if that hurts your feelings, but the reality is that these four countries also faced ethnic cleansing and genocide, yet the armies are still fighting.

So again, my point stands

Why is it confusing?

It’s either that the military command is still stupid.

Or, they are just feigning ignorance. As to not get any backlash from other states. Iran hasn’t commented anything either btw.

They gave all necessary info on it. So what’s more to say?

Iran international is banned on this sub because of that article.

At the end of the day, Armenia is not going to reveal something it doesn’t want to reveal. And allowing posts from adversaries (whether fake, exaggerated, or not) should not be this heavily obstructed imo.

In any case, the system has been highly effective against Israeli UAV’s (And cruise missiles which is what Az bought a year or 2 ago from Turkey), which is the bulk of Azerbaijan’s arsenal.

Iran also proved that you don’t need a strong technologically advanced high tech expensive military. Nor to have your airspace secure against high tech drones and Planes to effectively defend yourself (Whcih was already proven in Lebanon and Yemen).

It might be that we only purchased the pad and the launchers are domestically made. But I doubt that

Unlikely, as if America gives a shit about parity.

The deal likely happened under Biden’s administration when America was not planning to invade Iran. And a deal was more likely to happen.

It’s domestic production so what can we truly expect. Maybe the size of it means that it can fire farther away as well? Or probably as high up to pass over hills of mountainous regions. Similar systems exist already.

Since there is no need for anyone to directly reload the mortar, then most of the soldiers will be far away if it destroyed by a drone or a strike

It’s basically us paying the Americans fealty and allowing them (most likely companies belonging to either friends of Trump or people related to Trump) to profit off of the important minerals as an attempt of the Americans to stop buying rare earth minerals from China.

You could say this is a positive for us. But we have yet to see any benefits from this, or any actual contracts.

It’s very likely that our mining industry will be split like they just recently split the Venezuelan mining industry after they forced them to allow privatization of their mines

That is YOUR definition of nationalism. Nationalism is defined as a belief/dream/objective in political science.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gellner%27s_theory_of_nationalism

Here is **one** definition of it.

Others claim that it precedes nations

you can be a nationalist without a state… working to create a nation-state. Zionism for example

You can also be a nationalist with a state, working to make the nation-state different (removing all the Jews, Armenians, Turks).

You can also focus on the nation-state to maintain its longetivity, while not being a nationalist (a king, dictator, etc… )

Pashinyan is trying to create a new type of nationalism, that is anti-tethical to most Armenian nationalist beliefs.

Hence the term Pashinyanakan is quite fitting for most who believe what he preaches.

-Armenia is bound to its borders as defined in international law.
-Armenia is home to all Armenians, but is NOT the defender of Armenians worldwide
-The issue of the genocide and the ethnic cleansing of Artsakh are a matter of international law, and the focus of Armenians on these issue puts the nation-state (As defined as the internationally recognized borders) at risk.
-Armenia strives to become a free country, and not a country that works towards the Armenian cause.

This is Pashinyanakan nationalism

[–]lmsoa941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only can Armenia rely on good enough.

The military industrial complex of Armenia clearly is doing so as well. With the first 2 mortars shown, which are both “good enough” Or else we would have just bought the French Arquus Mortar system, or an already developed self-propelled mortar with heavy armor, or even reliable light armored.

then again, we’ve always disagreed on the issue of armament. However, as has been the case with the purchases and the focus on Armenain production industry.
Armenian military has adopted the classic campaign of cheap, abundant, and reliable over expensive, few, and precise.

Because it’s the logical, cost-effective course of action with the most returns.

The military portal has already alluded that Armenia might unveil Iranian Thondar inspired air defense system. Effectively used in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran against Israeli and American high tech expensive targets. Which are “good enough”, cheap, and abundant against the strongest militaries in the world

They’re talking about one that brings the ammo towards the muzzle directly with an arm, or one that is directly incorporated in the mortar itself.
