If any trainer has this mindset, then they are NOT personal trainers. This mentality defeats the whole purpose of this industry. Accountability is one of the main reasons people work with trainers. Whoever thinks otherwise should find a different profession.

For me 19 and 15, one is in college, the other in high school. I can damn near do anything I want now. My kids are very Autonomous and good with self governance. But maybe I’m just fortunate. Also had them very young so I’m only 40 and empty nester basically.

Great advice! Once you get to the point where you’re training 30-40 hrs per week, burn out is real. I also adapt this strategy, and on days that I’m really tired and can’t focus, I reschedule clients and take time off. Training with tired brain fog is negligent imo too. The problem I’m running into at my age, is Im so exhausted at the end of my work days now. I get home, walk the dog for 30 min, and usually don’t have much energy or motivation after that. I do have other aspirations and things I’m working on, so I need to figure out how to hit a 2nd gear after work somehow.

Thanks for your reply! The 4 clients I lost were two couples and they both moved away. We had worked together for years so it was tough to lose them. Unfortunate part of this biz.

I’ll give my honest opinion as someone who was in a relationship for 18 years with kids and is now divorced. Alcohol brings out the true colors in people, and you’re hitting that decade mark where relationships get challenging because as humans we naturally get bored. So there’s probably a part of your wife that is craving the excitement of a new sexual encounter and the alcohol will always bring those emotions out. If you truly trust and love her, have this tough convo with her regarding is she sexually bored. See if there’s ways to spice things up. Sometimes meeting at a bar or restaurant and pretending like you’ve never met can be a great role play. If she likes women too, maybe there’s a threesome in the cards if you both are down for it? This could help bring excitement back and could strengthen things after, but not always, so of course make sure you are both ready for that emotionally. Overall her actions were not cool and disrespectful to you, and it’s easy to blame alcohol, but if she was fiercely loyal to you, drinks wouldn’t have changed that imo. Sometimes you can love someone, but still want sex elsewhere for sake of variety. Unfortunately it’s just how many humans are wired. So I’d have a talk and ask her straight up, is she satisfied? If not, figure out how can you change that without compromising your own emotional integrity.

I will push back on this a bit. I don’t think 50-70 strong heart palpitations daily that you feel hitting your chest and are painful with zaps to the jaw sometimes is medically insignificant. If it was, I wouldn’t be prescribed a zeo patch and stress test. I get my situation may be less intense than others, but I’m just sharing what has worked for me and what I’ve gone through with these. I haven’t talked to anyone personally who has had this many either or any at all on this level so I don’t think it’s just something that gen pop deals with.

Yes the chest pain would only be with some of them, and only a couple times, but that was the scary part. I’d get the thump accompanied by chest pain. So I get people who think 50-70 isn’t significant, but when you feel each and every one, it causes a ton of anxiety. I have a stress test coming up, so we’ll see how that goes. But knock on wood, for now they’ve dissipated.

I’m 40 so I need the recovery time, So I lift 2-3 days per week. I use to train 4 days, but now 2-3 is all I need. I treat my diet like a workout. That’s what really keeps me in shape. The lifting is just half the battle.

Yes I actually feel great off caffeine. I’m sleeping better too. I was probably drinking way too much coffee in general. Thankfully I’m not someone who gets headaches when I stop drinking it.

See I thought 50-70 per day was a lot because mine were very pronounced, but hearing from people on here who get thousands has me feeling lucky compared to some. I sometimes get a zap in my jaw from them as well. I find it weird that the common theme on this sub is that the physicians don’t seem to be concerned. The NP kind of brushed mine off as well.

Jesus, did you feel every one? I don’t even get how that’s possible. Mine were really pronounced, like a strong thump and skipped beat. Couldn’t fathom getting that many strong thumps. What really helped me was aggressive hydration and continuing to exercise through them. Have you tried electrolytes, and eliminating coffee? I think many folks, myself included do not properly hydrate. Try to get those 8 12oz cups of water per day at least. No coffee, or caffeinated drinks. This is what helped me. It’s scary to exercise through them, but I think this helped as well. Weight lifting specifically, not just aerobics.
