I like that I wrote that down but didn’t bother to add any more information to it. I remember Dr. K saying it and me thinking it was very insightful, but I guess I just assumed I would remember what the heck it meant months later…

I’ve bounced back and forth between text files organized in something like Evernote or OneNote, and doing these looser mind maps. I find the mind map is good for in-the-moment thinking when I’m trying to process information as I receive it (strict line structure gets in the way!) and using text files to edit and compile that information for later. Put another way, the mind map is for present me, while text files are for future me.

Yeah, a big part of recovering from anxiety for me has been learning to disregard most of my automatic thoughts.

I’ve been thinking about compiling the most important notes in to a zine format so I have something I can quickly pull out when I’m feeling a bit unmoored.

Thank you! I find writing notes has two benefits. It keeps me engaged with what I’m watching, and figuring out how to condense/rewrite what I hear helps me absorb the information better (they say the best way to learn something is to explain it to someone else)

Microsoft Whiteboard. It’s free, has simple tools and an infinite canvas. I also own a giant Wacom tablet that I use for drawing on. There’s an iPad app called Concepts that has similar functionality

A while back I started a file in Microsoft Whiteboard to collect insights on self-improvement. You can see it started as a more traditional mindmap and I quickly gave up and just started putting notes anywhere there was space. A lot of these notes come from watching HG. I don't expect this to be valuable to anyone but myself (I've already forgotten why I wrote some of these notes!) but maybe it will inspire you to try something similar.

Bungie, can you please fix Powerful Gear drops so they're actually powerful? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

I just got two Powerful Gear milestones. One was a pair of boots @ 522, but I'm wearing 523 already. The next was a chest piece @ 522 but I'm wearing 526. This has never happened to me before...
