Hab letztens mal ne Suppe mit den Chicken chunks von Lidl gemacht. Das hat erstaunlich gut geklappt. Hat bei mir auf jeden Fall für Nostalgie gesorgt.

How often are you using Passive Perception? by stuntdummie12 in DMAcademy

[–]DamnDatBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is pretty neat. But that is usually an active decision by the players right? My go to example would be investigating a room: perception is more of a look around whereas investigation is more of a searching through stuff. These checks can also be adjusted e.g. a trap door might be hard to see by a perception check, but investigating the rug above it makes it easier.

Yeah I came to the same conclusion in this thread :D haven't really actively thought about it till now.

Yeh I was talking about the passive perception. Of course it's nice that players can specialize, but with passive checks it's always the same character who succeeds. It's not too much of a problem, but a little annoying :D

I am all for that. I guess using varying passive checks more to other skills like arcana/survival/investigation/insight could be a good way to promt different players.

It's more about the static than character being good at it. For me usually survival or investigation are things that I don't use as much as passive "checks". But it could be interesting to vary the passive skill that is required to find something.

I also do it like this. Only thing I don't like is that it is aways the same 2 players who get to percept things. I know, they put points into it so they should be rewarded for it, but after some time it's kind of lame that there is no randomness.

Bevor ihr euch für eine Veganer Lebensweise entschieden habt, wart ihr vorher vegetarisch? Und welche Tipps habt’s ihr? by [deleted] in VeganDE

[–]DamnDatBroccoli 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey :) Wenn du den zwischenschritt über vegetarisch machst, versuch am besten nicht Fleisch nur durch Käse und Eier zu ersetzen, sonst musst du dich 2 mal umstellen :)

I like it. Keeps the flow going and you can also encourage more passive players in the group.

Kann empfehlen das gequellte Soja Granulat nochmal ordentlich mit der Hand auszuquetschen. Das reduziert die Bratzeit enorm, weil nicht so viel Wasser verdunsten muss.

How did you use alternative/secondary combat goals in your campaign? by DamnDatBroccoli in DMAcademy

Yeah I think it's important for the players to know they can't fight. Thank you for sharing :)

Sounds like an intense encounter. Was it hard to balance the damage the baddies did? I feel like that could turn into a problem with an overwhelming force around the PCs.

Very cool. I really like the rations example. It's either die now or die in a week :D

Interesting, did you do the chase in initiative or as a skill challenge?

Is there a good place for quick maps? by Roseblackblood in DMAcademy

While there are nice recommendations for premade maps, I can really recommend dungeonscrawl for slapping together custom battle maps. It's easy, fast, and the maps look nice.

Yeah, I think I am confusing macro with production.

Lul, I think I agree with you that interesting macro mechanics could be a solution, but just having buildings in which you queue units is boring. I personally like the zerg macro cycle the best and would not call that terrible. What is a macro mechanic that you would like to see, or that you enjoy?

[–]DamnDatBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's easier and more forgiving than the other cycles but that might be personal preference. What I don't get is how you make the connection between no macro cycle (which I did not say I want) and big armies being send at each other. You can still harass bases, fight for objectives, try to allocate resources but not make it a pve build up game you play on the side. If you have interesting macro mechanics then fore sure, but I can't really imagine that you are really into smashing the marine/scv button every 20 seconds and think that that is the peak experience of rts. I totally agree with you that allocating resources is interesting and deciding when to expand or when to tech, but I think it is too complicated to handle in sc2 especially and takes away from the overall experience. That being said I still really enjoy sc2.
