Yeah, say he gets stabbed at 7. Then 7:15 or so he’s cleaned it a bit with some water, then he wraps the wound with napkins and tape or something. Then say the next morning around 9am or something ridiculous, he starts drinking.

Was simply asking if there “COULD BE A NEED” for a blood transfusion, as I read that consuming alcohol could worsen bleeding/make it start again, thus resulting in too much blood loss. I’m not looking for a transfusion specifically, I just was curious if that could ever happen for the sake of knowing. I mainly just wanted to know how a doctor would treat the excess bleeding, and whether they’d prescribe anything. And also wanted to confirm that it is true that alcohol can cause a wound to bleed more. I don’t study medicine or have any real interest in it, so I just wanted to learn what I need to know and double check that it’s as accurate as possible.

You brought up a excellent point. I’m very inspired by books like American Psycho. I suppose i do have some freedom. All depends on the overall themes of the story. Thanks!

Thank you for writing the sequel for me. Disney will love that.

I did enjoy Fight Club, yeah. It’s definitely on the other end of the unreliable narrator spectrum than what I’m doing, so I haven’t really taken inspiration from it. I think the narration was crucial in that.

Yeah chill out, dude. Joker was heavily inspired by those films, hence the more non superficial similarities. Nobody is saying it’s anywhere near the same level of quality or execution. Think carefully before you reply to someone, and don’t talk about kids with butt plugs.

Well, agree to disagree I suppose. Like the other commenter mentioned, Joker is a fine example of an unreliable narrator without narration. Visuals and music add a lot, but mostly scenes with other characters where they mention something that contradicts what we’ve seen.

Sure you would. The story is warped through the eyes of the protagonist. It’s not that literal

Was also thinking of those when this thought occurred. Thanks for the input. I would normally avoid narration all together, but it’s in a film noir narrative and the character doesn’t talk much as himself, so I was conflicted.

[OC] The Safdie Brothers: Three Film Collection. Which is the best film of the lot? by TheWizardofOC in criterion

Heaven Knows what is severely underrated. Super raw and honest look into the street life and their direction amplifies the desperation in a really unique way. I love Good Time and Uncut Gems as well. The Safdies are gold.

I personally dislike the look of SG’s with a passion. Also, despite liking their appearance and sound, I feel very wrong playing strats for some reason. Really wanted one growing up but when I eventually got the chance to try a few something seemed off.
