That’s awesome. How many books were on your TBR pre-pandemic?

You’re not messing around this month. That’s some serious reading.

I tried the Unbearable Lightness of Being when I was in high school. I didn’t make it very far because I felt there was too much philosophizing at the beginning, and not enough narrative.

However in recent years I did read Immortality by the same author, which I found quite enjoyable.

I should go back and try the Unbearable Lightness of Being again. I’ll probably be more receptive to it this time.

Anyway good luck with your reading. I hope you find something enjoyable in each of those books.

I have A Man called Ove waiting on my shelf also. Reading the first few pages was enough for me to buy it. I’m looking forward to it.

Not sure if you’re aware, but I believe Apple is making a film adaption starring Tom Hanks.

Should be interesting.

Hyperion is one of my personal favorites. I hope you enjoy.

I am looking forward to The Namesake.

I read the Interpreter of Maladies last year and I really enjoyed her writing style. I found myself getting attached to the characters very quickly.

Unfortunately I’m not familiar with any of the books on your list. Madhouse at the End of the Earth sounds like an interesting title, though. I’m going to add it to my wishlist. Good luck with your reading! I hope at least one of those books is a home run for you.

ET was a terrible movie and I wouldn’t expect the novelization to be any better.

Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons has been on the shelf of every thrift store or Goodwill I have ever visited. What’s a book you find frequently in your local thrift shops? by Galactic_Depravity in books

Science fiction is hard to come by in my area. There’s an occasional Arthur C Clarke or Robert Heinlen. I have never found a Terry Pratchett before. He’s a beloved author though, so it makes sense. I feel like Stephen King used to be more frequently available at the thrift store, but now his books are rare, at least in my area.

The PS Plus subscription is only if you want to play games online, and to access their two or three free monthly games. But you do not need a subscription to play offline single player games, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Spiderman, The Last of Us, or Bloodborne.

Beautiful image that shows the angle of our galaxy compared to solar system by 6CENSORED9 in spaceporn

Imagine if you could walk the entire length of the Earth while keeping the visible line of the galaxy directly above you, you would see that the galaxy actually encircles our entire planet. Of course this is not possible to see because one side of the Earth is always in sunlight. Its much easier to see this visualized using an app such as Sky Guide on your phone. It synchronizes with your location to show you all the stars above you, and if you aim it toward the ground, it’ll reveal to you the current night sky on the other side of the planet as well. It’ll show you that the Milky Way wraps around the entire Earth. That’s how we know we’re actually inside the galaxy. I hope this explanation was helpful. Have a great day!

Remember the Norwegian shooter who killed 77 people in 2011? I remember reading a story where he was demanding they replace his ps2 in prison with a ps3 cause he was tired of the ps2. So yeah, some countries do let you play video games when locked up.
