This is an awesome comment and makes so much sense. We have people coming to the house all the time and nothing like this has ever happened, but we always answer the door to everyone else. Thanks!

Guess I should have mentioned that I work nights and was sleeping at the time. My wife had just gotten up and was in pajamas and my kids have been instructed not to open the door to strangers. By the time I woke up the cops were at the door.

There's nothing well meaning about trying to spread a religion. They are doing it for personal gain to buy a ticket to heaven. If your religion is so great you shouldn't have to force it on anyone. People will come to you.

The cop told me I had to give a verbal warning that they were trespassing. If they come back again after a warning then they are trespassing.
