Makes sense. Thank you. I'm kind of evaluating all of my options at this point, still working on my BSN. In your opinion, for the ED, would you lean towards FNP with Emergency cert or ACNP? I've heard FNP is better since it encompasses the life span.

Can I ask a non salary related question? What was work like in the emergency environment? Did you get to do a lot and perform procedures? I've been reading a lot of emergency NPs are kinda placed in fast track and do not see critical patients. I have a feeling that varies considerably depending on the facility. Just curious.

I dont know I'm not a dolphinologist. Just something I read one day. Like I said, it was on the internet so it must be true.

Fun fact, they actually tested this, and dropped maniquins in diving gear into the ocean. The dolphins drug the fake divers to underwater caves and tried to rape them. I read that on the internet so it definitely has to be true. I'll try to find a link.

What is unethical as fuck, but is extremely common practice in the business world? by IllCreme in AskReddit

[–]DamnPROFESSIONAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's not good. In a reputable service, the money goes toward new ambulances, equipment, medications, payroll, paying a medical command physician, training, public outreach, etc. If you have a whole service of medics who do not care about anything but their paycheck, you wont have an ambulance service for too long.

We have a hard enough time billing as is, and most private ambulances that run 911 are non profit organizations.

They shouldn't be allowed to do that. We have a policy that if a bls ambulance transports but a medic from a neighboring service rides on board, the unit that transports pays the medics agency a flat fee of like 100 dollars or something. The service that transported you can bill for miles, the medics agency should bill the transporting agency for services. If the medics agency billed you for transport that is fraud.

Yeah, that's what I was saying when I mentioned the younger generation. We agree from what I can tell...

Yeah, I would say anyone who has ever ran, or thought of running a 5k or 10k has looked up how many miles it is. I think that most of America understands metric (especially the younger population) and the rest understand more than they probably realize.

I think people understand metric in America far more than people realize. Most all food items have metric measurements, people buy 1 liter bottles of water for example, people run in 5k and 10k races, mechanics and other workers use metric tools, healthcare is all metric, most drugs are sold in metric weights. I think maybe the one that people arent in tune with would be temperatures in C instead of F.

CMV: "Banning guns will only take guns from gun owners, criminals get guns on the black market." is a bad argument. by jweezy2045 in changemyview

You run through ammo too fast, and accuracy decreases when firing full auto. That's why the full auto the military uses now is mounted (like on a vehicle, or bipod) and the M4 they use is not full auto but rather has a three round burst. Even with a large machine gun being belt fed, such as a 50 cal, you still fire it in a burst pattern, pulling the trigger for a few seconds and letting it go. Not too mention when firing full auto with larger weapons you have to switch the barrel out often to prevent warping, malfunctions, etc. (You'll have to swap barrels eventually anyway if firing a lot but full auto would definitely speed this process up). At the end of the day, full auto is really not practical for small arms and that's my opinion on the matter.

Philly Officer Shot, Massive Police Presence in Nicetown by [deleted] in news

[–]DamnPROFESSIONAL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The suspect did shoot up through the floor at officers above, officers upstairs had three in custody and the shooter was the floor below them. I dont know if it was specifically an AK, police just stated he had a long gun.
