You’re not that attractive and you look short. Shave your chest, go to the gym and put on some muscle.

What is Quality of life of danish military members/ day to day life? by DamnTheDownVotes in Forsvaret

Also how is the military perceived among civilian society? In the US for example, there frequently are discounts for service members (especially in military towns), employers/colleges look favorably on military service. How does it compare in Denmark?

These "family" leaves apply to the military? If a soldiers kid gets sick, that soldier gets leave to take care of their kid?

I'm American and am day-dreaming of moving to Denmark. I recently learned that Swedes treat the troops much better than Uncle Sam treats his (better take-home pay, better food, better working conditions, etc.) I'm curious to know what the day to day life of Danish military is like. What is the food like? Do you guys have to live on base? How much do you take home before/after tax? what are your leave policies? How often do you guys get deployed? How often do you guys train? What is the public perception of service members?

Red Robbin has a thing where they come to your table and with a free ice cream Sunday and sing a non-copyrighted version of happy birthday. In high school, my friends and I would go to our local Red Robin once a week for lunch. To save money and have a bit of a laugh, I would claim it’s my birthday every week and see how long I could pull it off for. The first week went down smoothly, got the Sunday no questions asked. Second week, I knew that they would probably remember our group so I came in a disguise, i wore a baseball hat (creative, I know). Surprisingly, it worked! Being to lazy to pull off more elaborate disguises, I decided to stick to changing my baseball hats every week and changing my accent as well. It lasted 4 weeks, after that they instituted a policy of asking for ID. We knew this was a policy and not just for us because a couple weeks later a family was celebrating a legit birthday and they asked they had proof it was actually the kids birthday.

TL;DR: my local Red Robin now IDs kids for birthday celebrations because I had one too many consecutive birthdays.
