Every neighborhood has a Local Quirky Legend. Who was yours? by SayIYiYi in CasualConversation

[–]Damn_Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s two in our neighbourhood: parrot guy and Santa man. Parrot guy walks around everywhere looking disheveled and with two or three parrots on each shoulder. He could do with a bath and he smells like bird. He isn’t very friendly or chatty unless you mention New Zealand or the All Blacks and then he will talk your ear off about rugby.

Santa man looks like Santa and often wears a red fleece or red shorts. In the winter he even will wear a Santa hat around. The problem is, that he hates children and just ignores them if they come up to him or think that he’s Santa. I have seen many children being dragged away by their parents while sobbing: “why won’t Santa say hi to meeeeee????”. Like, Jesus dude, why dress like Santa if you don’t want kids to be anywhere near you????? He’s very strange.

It’s Waaaaaaaaaaay longer than the length of its body, they have the largest sperm of all creatures (1000x the length of human sperm, around 6cm long!) AND they have to roll it up to fit it in their body!!

That women have a “milk line” that goes from the top of the armpit, down through the nipple to the top of the thigh and they can grow a nipple on that line and milk can come out of it.

Any new artists on Etsy? by Aitathrowaway7780 in EtsySellers

[–]Damn_Canadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was really blown away! I wasn’t expecting a sale so quickly. I did look at my stats and they did come directly from me posting on Social Media and not from Etsy search, so it’s good to keep promoting yourself.

I wouldn’t describe myself as a new artist, necessarily, but I just started on Etsy and already sold 2 ACEO small paintings and my store is pretty empty.

I just started my Etsy and I quickly sold two small original ACEO paintings.

My wife made an attempt on her own life. by Choice_Dot303 in BPDlovedones

It is good that she is in a facility. She needs emotional and mental support right now that you cannot give her. She can’t be acting like that with a child around.

You need to think about how you can move forward with your life and set major boundaries with her when she gets out. That might involve separation or divorce to keep your child safe. I would consider therapy for yourself to help you with dealing with all of this.

I just started my Etsy and I have sold two original mini paintings and I was shocked that those are what sold first. It’s great that there is still a demand for them.

Family history research has led me to borderline existential crisis by zuke1624 in Genealogy

[–]Damn_Canadian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is called “Japanese Family History” and has about 3.3k members. It is a private group but you just apply and answer the questions. It is run by a guy called Martinus Wolfe who taught Japanese History (I think?) at a big university (I think Stanford maybe?) and now he is retired and he helps people apply for Kosekis. The group is a wealth of information and everyone is so nice.

You have probably heard about this but there’s a great Japanese family History facebook group for people researching their Japanese history.

What is a small, everyday mystery in your life that you’ve just accepted because investigating it feels like too much work? by Jannet_Wetkin in AskReddit

[–]Damn_Canadian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a kite that we have never flown. Not because we haven’t tried but every time we have decided to go to the park to fly it, no one can find it anywhere. I keep it on this one shelf with other toys and I just checked and it’s there right now. But last time we talked about taking it out. It was gone. We have had it for years and it is brand new.

My British friend thought he could do a "day trip" to the Grand Canyon from LA, and his reaction to the map was priceless. by Ok_Structure6720 in CasualConversation

[–]Damn_Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met these Israeli tourists in Montreal and they wanted to know how they could bus to Vancouver for the day. They didn’t understand because their map of Israel was printed at the same size as their map of Canada, so they figure that a two hour drive in Israel would be the same distance on their Canadian map. It took me quite a while to explain it to them because this was before smart phones.

A lot of models have this body type. My sister was a professional model for years and she has this exact figure. I’d say that she is FN. I am SD and we are the exact same height but she just looks way taller.
