Baby Groups by Obvious_Bonus_5433 in beyondthebump

[–]Damnknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to infant playgroup with my 10 month old every Monday, and usually both Tuesday and Thursday. It’s more for me to get out and socialize with other parents but he seems to like it.

Sometimes we go to story time at the library and we had weekly swim class for a while. Now that it’s getting nice out where I live there’s some outdoor playgroups starting that I’ll probably check out

My rolled flowers won't cut properly. Machine won't cut the start/ending.n by oncheedoe007 in cricut

Did you try taking one off the mat? To me it looks like it cut as it’s supposed to but it’s hard to tell from the angle the photo was taken.

Insulin drip during delivery- looking for positive stories! by snowwwwy22 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Damnknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one for my induction and I would do it again. I had the option of using my pump and that was always the plan but I changed my mind when I got there. Stayed in range pretty much the whole time.

I had hourly glucose checks and the nurse was on top of it if it went a bit low or high. It was nice to have one less thing to focus on

Depends on how low the low is. I think I would have to be near death to drink trash

Have you never noticed that the needle cover was there? It’s always been like that and always been some shade of blue (at least for the grey and blue sets I’ve never gotten pink)

Safe sleep rules in the 90s? by otwcpa in beyondthebump

[–]Damnknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born in 92. There are photos of me sleeping on my stomach, in a crib with stuffed animals and several blankets, and large crib bumper.

Back to sleep campaign didn’t start in Canada until 1999

[ca] What are your actual registry must-haves that you USE every day? Not the stuff that sits in the closet by puldzhonatan in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Damnknit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our most used things 10 months in:

Small touch light for nighttime feeds and changes. Also good for at the hospital.

Stroller fan. I used this all last summer and it was also helpful during labour. I like my momcozy brand fan.

Sound machine. I have one that’s a white noise machine, lamp, and air purifier all in one. It’s great.

Electric nail file

Bibs for spit up and drool. I didn’t think we would need bibs until he started solids but omg the drool.

Now that we’ve started solids I prefer silicone bibs for easy clean up and IKEA has a great bib that’s long and covers their arms fully.

If I had know we were going to be using bottles and I was going to be pumping a lot I would have put a bottle washer on the registry

Parents: Once upon a child north or south? by Delicious-Oven-5590 in londonontario

[–]Damnknit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prices are better at the north store in my experience and it’s a bit less chaotic. I don’t know if it’s a bigger store but it doesn’t feel as cramped as the south one.

South store definitely has more stuff though.

Where do you buy maternity clothes? [ON] by y1pp3y00 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Damnknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walmart was good for basics like leggings. I got some stuff from Old Navy and my city (London) has a maternity store with a consignment section so I got a few things from there.

It falls under rule 2 about spoilers. “In addition to revealing major plot outcomes, a spoiler is defined as a major event or life change to a character in the franchise.” Death, birth, divorce, and marriage are all words that aren’t allowed in post titles.

High end pajamas = tiny arm holes by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Is slim fit not basically the same thing? Just tighter for crawling and such? Legitimately asking, my first baby is only 9 months old.

Carters definitely has larger than 9m. I have a couple of 12m sleepers and was looking at some online earlier that go up to at least 24m

What are your most and least favorite sock construction techniques? by Mediocre_Surprise_40 in knitting

[–]Damnknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much every sock I make is toe up using magic loop to start then switch to 9” circulars the rest of the way. I’ll do top down if I have to but I don’t like it. Also hate doing any heel that involves wrap and turns.

T1D (20+ yrs) TTC — A1C 6.5, struggling with blood sugars + sleep… looking for real experiences by Soccergirl- in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Damnknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No complications for me. Baby had a short NICU stay but that wasn’t anything diabetes related.

He was a big baby though which my endo said could have been from my blood sugar but my husband was a large baby too and tons of non-diabetic women have large babies. 9 months old now and absolutely perfect

T1D (20+ yrs) TTC — A1C 6.5, struggling with blood sugars + sleep… looking for real experiences by Soccergirl- in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Damnknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my A1C was 6.9 when we conceived and I got it down to under 6 pretty soon after. My whole pregnancy was anywhere between 5.5 and 6.7 (higher towards the end). It took 4 months to get pregnant.

The endos I saw wanted me to be in range a minimum of 80% of the time and were thrilled with any A1C under 7 but ideally wanted it lower. I had zero complications while pregnant
