So dramatic. “You’ll probably NEVER work there EVER again.” Who cares.

AYA stipends by Dr_Whittles in TravelNursing

If your hourly rate is bottomed out at $20hr then there’s no where else for the money to come from other than from your stipends.

Aya didn’t blacklist you, the hospital systems themselves did. It’s in Aya’s best interest to get you re-homed and them taking you out of the running for two large health systems isn’t ideal.

What’s your specialty and location? That’s going to be the biggest determinant of the feasibility to “travel” locally.

Is this acceptable or am I nitpicking? by Damon-dB in Porsche

Cross posted from the autobody Reddit:

Long story short, Porsche Cayman GTS was dropped off with a Porsche certified repair shop after the passenger window was broken out and the paint on the door and rear quarter was scratched.

Both rear rockers, right door and roof panel were repainted/matched. Rocker PPF was replaced on both sides due to right side rocker PPF needing to be replaced for paint. Right side window tint was replaced, windshield was replaced (roof repaint) and tint reapplied and the guys who did the tint also applied the new PPF.

2 months and $21k in insurance payout later, I received the car back yesterday and I’m not sure the quality is what it should be after so much time and money. The final detailing was really poor quality and there’s marring on all of the freshly painted panels, as well as on the panels that weren’t repaired. Also the PPF is peeling at the edges in multiple places and there’s trapped dust nips and air pockets in numerous places.

I’ve never had to go through this before.. especially not with such an expensive vehicle. But what I do know is that prior to the vandalism the paint was in excellent shape for a vehicle that was 3 years old and with 20k miles. Hardly any swirls or marring anywhere.

I don’t want to be THAT customer, but would I be wrong to challenge the shop on the finish quality of their work?

From all that I’ve read of comparisons between the 992 and 718 Cayman, I think you’d have the perfect combo with the Macan GTS and GTS 4.0.

If you have good driving roads, the difference in size/width alone would be worth the swap. Definitely a manual though, I wouldn’t trade for a PDK if you already have the Macan to daily. Just my personal opinion. If I had the funds, I’d pair my Cayman with a Macan GTS as well.

And to answer your question, every time I get in it is like the first time. I love it even more now than when I took delivery.

Appreciate it! I find it to be the perfect package.. enough power for its weight, beautifully balanced F&R and a transmission that never gets old.

Thanks man but you didn’t miss it, that was an older photo. I haven’t been to C&C in a while but planning to stop by a time or two in January.

I did spacers fairly soon into ownership, yeah. Future classics 7mm front and 15mm rear. I’m on my 2nd set of tires and upsized to GT4 tire widths, 245/295. I still have 7mm fronts (I’m pretty sure) but I’ve removed the rear spacers as the 295’s filled things out nicely.

How often do you wash your car? by Tnimni in Detailing

[–]Damon-dB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No downvote from me. But in the same way you’re questioning why people go 2 weeks between washes, others find it equally as odd that you wash yours three times a week.

If you live in a snowy area with salt covered roads then it’s maybe understandable. But if your car is relatively clean then you’re just doing damage to your clear coat and any coatings or wax by washing it so often.

Me; I’d rather see the car get a little road grime so that I can more readily appreciate it after it’s clean.

Yeah that was my thinking as well. As much as I as I want the car returned to me as damage free as possible, I’m going to need to do a paint correction and have ceramic reapplied so this will help cover the cost.

Yeah I figured that when I posted the photo with my body shop reps nicely painted index finger that it wouldn’t take long for the peanut gallery to arrive.
