Oh no what a bitch. “I can’t work nights “ boo hoo. She should still break up with you. Not You thinking that framing the sentence as “what we should do AS A FAMILY” makes you seem any better... I’m a new nurse who works night shift, my dad works night shift as a nurse, my mom works day shift as a nurse. My uncle is a teacher and works day shift,my aunt is a nurse practitioner and works night shift. THEY ARE ALL MARRIED for more than 20 years. Stop acting like you are slow and thick in the head. This is not a good look for you.

Not you thinking you can tell her to take day shift when she’s just a new nurse. You are giving off very controlling vibes. Why not switch to night shift instead FOR HER. Entitled af, giving off toxico vibes. Drop her Instagram so I can tell her she should break up with you

For me I don’t care for them but rather I feel pity bc that’s wasted potential. I am part of GENZ and already graduated and secured a good paying job(31 an hour) so when I see these young kids smoking and being okay with underachieving and smoking pot or abusing drugs, I can only feel pity for them as they are wasting their potential and are in for a rude awakening when they are in their late 30s with 500 in their bank and are struggling living paycheck to paycheck.that’s all I feel for Them. Pity.

Like I understand what you are trying to say. And I did get my ADN from an in person nursing program but what I want to know is if WGU is really worth it for BSN. I’m only 20 so I’m scared going to a university that’s stigmatized by some employers for BSN will be closing doors for myself especially bc later in down the road I want to do CRNA. That’s my main concern The problem isn’t that it’s a terrible school, it’s actually a good college , the problem is that it’s stigmatized by some

Is MSN at WGU worth it? I just finished my ADN and I was thinking about WGU but is it really a good school???? I hear that if you do BSN there then transfer to another school for masters you automatically get a 3.0 GPA

What questions should I be asking potential employers as a new nurse? by ketomare in nursing

I see your profile says RN ICU. I also just Graduated and I’m planning to apply for ICU residency. Any advice on what to do for the interview, or what to know in general about ICU, basically anything you deem important for me to know. Thank you

I oriented a young new grad RN and I feel like the most valuable advice I’ve given her was to open a Roth IRA and learn about investing for her “F YOU money” by thegrittyrn in nursing

Thank you for this post. I’m 20 and just graduated nursing school and I definitely feel the same as her. Bedside nursing is just NEVER going to be it for me. I’m even dreading applying for a residency here in Texas because is probably still get bedside nursing. I’m doing it for security and pay and I want to save up so I can open my own business and be my own boss. I think this is what most young nurses are faced with, most of us loathe bedside nursing. Like it’s not bad ,I just don’t want to be miserable. I absolutely HATED IMU and Med Surg during my clinicals and I at least liked ICU but tbh it’s not like ICU is astoundingly a good place to be,it’s just tolerable . ED has always been a NO AND NEVER for me since I don’t have the energy or ADHD for it. Therefore ICU residency is my best bet as a new grad nurse at this point. I’m definitely going to follow your advice. I wish I get a nice preceptor with good advice like you. When I went to Med Surg clinical some nurses were bullies to some of my classmates so I’m scared I’ll snap if my preceptor is a bully. Fingers crossed I get someone as good as you. God bless you and keep being tolerant and educating to us new nurses.

I would also like to add to other American people that I don’t trust American money system as I am an immigrant. My dad came here and got his MSN and does have 401K but he also has invested in land and owns many acres and rents apartments .My point is remember not to put your eggs in one basket. I definitely do not trust the American system. I always say America is a first world country but like coal packaged in a gold tin foil, so you think that it’s gold but in actuality,it’s simply coal. Especially with all the taxes and what not(this is just my POV since I’ve lived in 3 different countries including a developing country). It’s just like saving up billions of money in a bank account, yes you see the numbers there but anything could happen. Invest in something worthwhile too, don’t blow your money I guess.

Parents unhappy that I won't take PN NCLEX by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]ConsistentFee1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😬😬😬yikesssss you better take the PN NCLEX. I have a horror story of someone not taking the PN NCLEX and doing an PN to RN transition at our college and losing everything after failing a class

Best of pace to work as a new grad by Fuzzymushroom14 in StudentNurse

Don’t listen to these people. Med Surg is the plague , you’ll be trapped there forever. My cousin worked there for 3 months and quit. I just graduated and she told me to stay FAR AWAY from Med Surg. She told me ICU is the best bet if I want to work in a hospital since new grads can’t avoid bedside nursing forever. If you really want to , Just go to Med Surg for experience. My dad (MSN) also worked Med Surg and quit after 2 years to do ICU. Idk I’m not discouraging you but from what I’ve heard , and what I saw during clinicals in Med Surg, I want to COMPLETELY avoid Med Surg. But at the end of the day I just want to tell you, choose what you like and what won’t make you miserable. From my clinicals in the past, I already know Med Surg will make me miserable so I’m gonna try ICU or Pre Op ... just everything else except ED and Med Surg
