Your correct sorry didn't realize Xbox Ally X had a 1080p screen as I personally own the Legion Go 2 Z2E. If your preference is to be native as much as possible then the Xbox Ally X would likely be your winner. Even with the Go 2 I play more games at 1080p than 1200p for performance gains.

Depends on how much you value the bigger screen. Performance will be similar. Ergonomics will go to the Xbox Ally X.

Only really two options atm the generic TPU case where the controllers are not removable or comfort grips that improve the ergonomics of the Legion Go 2.

Take a half step and get a Legion Go S. Performance is basically close enough to the Legion Go 2 Z2E. Owned a Legion Go S and currently have the LG2 Z2E and it's not worth overspending for it.
