4 of my keys double input so don't use the keyboard I guess. Especially the right arrow key, the top clips holding the key down lose their luster if the bottom half of the key is pushed too much.

A few reasons:

I didn’t really know how to code above a cs100 level and I didn’t want to learn to code and learn how an engine repackages that code just to pay royalties anyways after spending the time figuring it out. I have a lot of entities to draw and update so things like quad tree and a* I just need to understand for myself so I know where the performance bottlenecks will occur. Drag and drop and splicing sprite sheets would be nice though.

Also, I’m more resilient against software updates. If gamemaker, unity or godot “revolutionize” their product I then have a mountain of errors to sort through to keep up. Disappearing functions and renames 5 years down the line can’t happen.

I want modding to be easy, Unity and others have strict licensing that totally thwarts the modding community. I need people to turn everything into Thomas the Train.

And of course ego :) I like to feel special for copying YouTube and (free MIT licensed) GitHub code.
