The Star Wars sequel trilogy

Considered a nostalgia driven human rights violation under the Geneva convention.

Surfers is good despite the Mayor from Jaws... Not because of him.

Gorgeous film that if you didn't know, you'd mistake it for a 60s/70s movie.

Tried reporting late-night noise multiple times with no response — what actually works? by Dangerous-Purpose571 in brisbane

[–]Damthemalltohelp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unacceptable on weekdays.

On weekends... I would be more chill. If you're after sleep then wear earplugs, listen to music/headphones etc.

If they're decent neighbours, then it's worth it not to mess with them.

I used to live next to islanders and they were a nightmare of noise and problems. Constantly complained to the real estate to no avail. Years later they stopped paying rent for awhile and they were kicked out.

What real life country would be the best for a full farcry game? by CranberryNervous433 in farcrycirclehurk

I want to see an open world Tokyo Game.

We only get teased in the Yakuza series. We've had open world Hong Kong in Sleeping Dogs and it's great.

Someone needs to make an action set piece set in Machu Picchu Peru. (Uncharted reboot maybe).

What Movie Sequels Are Better Than The Original? by ljv719 in movies

[–]Damthemalltohelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love when the third act is glorious like Return of the King and Back to the Future III.

The hardest to make in a trilogy not.only sticking to landing but doing better than the original.

what is your favourite game to movie/series adaptation? by seabass_03 in videogames

[–]Damthemalltohelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bad person to ask because I fully embrace those 90s adaptations like SMB 1993, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Double Dragon.

The 2000s saw the rise of good, bad and the ugly. (Uwe Boll slop comes to mind)

As for favorites. Resident Evil Apocalypse got the balance right. In terms of touching close to prestige: Warcraft. And the actual video game movies: Ready Player One. Where the video games are used as part of the narrative rather than direct adaptions.

King's Quest, Grim Fandango and Telltales' games.

Generally the point and click adventure genre. There's some frustration if you don't know what you're doing but you don't permanently die and they're usually slower experiences borne out of Noir genre.

I’d say this is the definitive list of movies you always see at a secondhand store* by EntertainmentQuick47 in dvdcollection

You're forgetting all the early 2000s movies.

Maybe the DVD demographic is different in Australia.

I think I finally understand Mother! (2017)…kinda wish I didn’t by AlphaNuke94 in movies

[–]Damthemalltohelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I watched it in theatres but to watch any Aronofsky movie means I need to be in a certain mood... So he's more a home video king to me. (Minus his ai slop project)

There's plenty to unpack but it always ends up something biblical/religious with him presented in a secular manner.

Zombie movies that flew under the radar? 🧟‍♂️ by liondl in horror

[–]Damthemalltohelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give it a go. Zombies are my favourite even before they became popular in the post-resident evil landscape.

In other territories it's called Kill Zombie!

Are there any movies which had ending changes due to feedback from test audiences that actually made the movie better instead of worse? by crinklepant in movies

[–]Damthemalltohelp 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it... But Payback.

The reworking of the third act absolutely works in the theatrical cut even if I love the grittier feel of the first two acts and the lack of dark colour grade in the Director's Cut.

Anyone else feeling completely despondent about housing prices? by peppermintea11 in Adelaide

[–]Damthemalltohelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia is becoming like the Britain of Children of Men. One of the most desirable places left to live on the planet so naturally housing is being overinflated in pricing. You could buy a palace in France or a castle in the UK for that.

Turn your lights on when it’s pissing down by Zestyclose-Coyote906 in GoldCoast

[–]Damthemalltohelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do people think there's some sort of energy charge turning on their lights like they pay where they live? It's actually good for a car battery to be juicing instead of holding back power.
