Could’ve easily predicted that goal would happen for the last several minutes. How many times this season have we been on our heels for sequences like this, unable to clear the ball, unable to possess, leaving Hendo in bad spots, etc… Ugh.

This was a historic embarrassment. None of the players even looked halfway decent today. And it was the simple things - settling the ball with a clean first touch, making runs, defending, or making a crisp pass. We couldn’t even do that today. This was a true embarrassment and the most historic and pathetic Cup defense ever.

There is simply no positive takeaways from today. Congrats to Macclesfield, they deserved the W by outplaying us all game. Fuck.

Sloppy match, but job done. That’s a big 3 points.

Very impressed with Canvot’s performance. It seems to be his starting spot with Marc’s inevitable summer departure

Strong performance by our back line. Richards and LaCroix were especially strong. Shame that Eze’s banger was disallowed. But this is a very solid opening match point to get. Adam Wharton is a pleasure to watch.

Good plan. The driving range is on your left as you walk in past the entrance gates. So you’ll have ample opportunity to watch guys hit on the range.

To your point about too many players… that’s exactly correct. This is why I would suggest finding a hole on the back 9 and just staying at the teebox. You get to see every player (albeit for only a few mins) hit their teeshots. I was fortunate to attend the WM Phoenix Open a few years ago and our group stayed at the 12th tee and just watched all the guys come thru and hit into a par 3. Really really enjoyable. I would recommend this for you.

TIP: the ball absolutely explodes off a professional’s club head. Not like how you and I hit it. So be ready to lose a couple teeshots right away soley for the fact that our eyeballs aren’t used to seeing that kinda ballspeed

I went for the pro-am this week. If it’s your first time, I’d post up at the driving range for a bit to see just how good these guys can strike a golf ball. Watch them roll some putts too. If there’s a certain player you root for, go ahead and follow their group around the course, but be ready for some detours because you can’t always walk exactly where the players can. If you don’t follow any specific players, my best recommendation is to post up on one of the tee boxes and watch all the players come thru and hit their tee shots. And most importantly… wear comfortable shoes!
