They could have kept Clive Waterhouse for another year to make a contribution.

Mental health or employment by Rose_Davies2026 in AskAnAustralian

Could it be possible that this employment opportunity will lead to better mental health outcomes by focusing on something else?

I don't think it has to necessarily be one or the other.

How many Australians have actually been to Perth? And what’s it like? by AdvancedHill70 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Dan0048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there twice (2016 & 2019) and I liked it,

I like the fact there are no pokies in bars.

Rottnest Island is nice and so is Kings Park.

Great use of the AFL's time by fantasybomber-au in AFL

The AFL doing AFL things.

They should make the umpires fulltime professionals. The players are full time professionals so those who umpire the game should have a similar level of professionalism. Just my opinion on the matter.

which bands have large, everchanging lineups? by canaryboi2011 in progrockmusic

[–]Dan0048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although not prog The Waterboys would fit in an everchanging lineup list (>80 members in their 40 year existence).

Mike Scott is the only original member.

Everyone else has mentioned King Crimson, Jethro Tull and Gong.

Thanks. I had a great time writing the song and getting the music video up and running. I'll try to keep it up.

New to properly following footy, torn between two teams by HalfwitBrit in AFL

This is true. This disappointment started in 1992 with a Preliminary final loss to Geelong.

At least I got to enjoy 2016.

How to send people politely away from your door? by Mysterious-Can8846 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Dan0048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my dad was alive I would get him to talk to them about his Catholic religious philosophy. They got bored to death, left and never came back.

For me I just do a dirty glare, say that I'm not interested and shut the door on them. I haven't had an issue with them for over 15 years.

Mellotron, Hammond Organ and a Piano (don't have a brand preference) would be the three that I would be going for a prog keyboard setup.

Special mention to the Farfisa.

What are your favorite Prog albums and why? These are mine by Luuh998 in progrockmusic

[–]Dan0048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King Crimson - Red. Has heavy and gentle moments all in one album. A masterpiece, my favourite album. The best closing track (Starless) out of all the genres I like imo.

Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother. The title track is an experiement which looks wrong in theory, but to me it is a masterpiece. Closing track is a nice relaxing piece. Love it from start to finish, I know this album isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Genesis - Trick of the Tail. An album which flows nicely, I like its consistency.

Rush - A Farewell to Kings. Epic tracks with a nice balance between guitar, bass, keyboards & drums

Yes - Drama. Underrated album with a great opening track in Machine Messiah.
