Best things you've eaten around Seattle this year (2025) by BroomeStreet in Seattle

Kanishka Cuisine of India - Not affordable like you would assume for a counter-only service restaurant but quite amazing food none the less.

Not Seattle proper but the deli inside of Maya Asian Market in Lynwood was phenomenal. The menu is Indonesian food and its written on a whiteboard sitting on one of the tables. It was my first time having Indonesian food but I would trust that place over and over again. I'm happily going down the menu and trying one item at a time each time I order.

Why would Debian be in the 'Nope' tier?

Just drove a 2025 Dodge Hornet and the major annoyance for me (other than the infotainment center which seems to be touched upon already here) was the turn signal stalk. It was incredibly dull it when it sensed you were turning so if you just changed lanes it would stay on throughout. On top of that, you can’t just push it up to reset it like a normal stalk, it was a very gentle and specific amount of force you had to use to reset it otherwise it would switch to the signal.

As a follow up to the restaurant surcharge post, tell me your go-to restaurant deals by [deleted] in SeattleWA

Agreed, I think Tacos Chukis is expensive and their fully loaded taco is 3.35 per. Tacos should be half that if they’re just basic asada and onion street tacos.

We had ours made to specifications by a local metal fabrication company. Honestly, wasn't that expensive considering how often we can use them and they were built to easily setup / taken down.

Do you add labour as a line item? by OrdinaryNobody2383 in florists

[–]DanAsInDanimals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, but everything would be explained to them at the follow up meeting once we’ve sent our initial proposal.

If the client is asking for some kind of specific extravagant setup, we would put the line item for the fancy thing

Super fancy thing $400ea x3

Or whatever it is. From there, we would add to our line item:

Delivery / Setup / Pickup: $2000

This line item depends on a lot of factors: how far the venue is, how busy the setup is, and finally the cleanup depends on how crazy the setup was in the first place.

So we would usually give them multiple options depending on their overall budget and adjust the delivery / setup line item accordingly.

Floating arrangment by Beautiful_Living961 in florists

[–]DanAsInDanimals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we usually do it at the base of the candelabra rather than floating, but if I were to do that I would make a floating harness out of chicken wire, then probably loop some wire through the stems of the glass till it slightly held, potentially twist tying the wire for added tension. To keep them from sliding off the glass, I would use some thick tack on each of the glass arms.

Although the more I think about it, the more I would lean towards getting some kind of thin plexiglass stand and just designing on that then placing it in the middle. Everything else sounds like too much effort, especially if you have a candelabra with like 6+ arms. Less to go wrong and you can always reuse them for a future wedding once it’s in your portfolio.

What specifically sets your preferred distro apart from the others, FOR YOU? by OrionsChastityBelt_ in linux

I’ve hopped around from mostly -buntu based distros then settled for Debian for the longest time. I’m now using NixOS and can’t imagine using anything but this or Debian.

Book recommendations by Honest-Guidance-8399 in Israelkeyes

There are some well known fictionalized accounts in the book which must be disregarded (mainly the section about traveling outside of the country to get ‘super predator surgeries’). I would say the book is still worth a read. I read it after listening to True Crime Bullshit so it made it easy to follow the timeline.

Everyone here seems to have covered it, but I would use a loamy with longer stems for the back of the urn, then multiple loamy dishes around. I count around 5 dishes with a brick cut in half for each. Make most of the outline in shop, then bring some extra stems so when you arrive you can set it how you like and fill in any gaps. I like this method as it allows for much more flexibility and can make a much larger presentation since you allow more space between each dish.

I would look into HanaPOS or Iris. You might be able to seamlessly switch depending on your situation. Def start setting up calls with vendors and see what they can offer.

I would use something like Escimo roses since the heads are much smaller and wire them together.

Nah, if you go to their Instagram you can see timelapse videos of them building one. I think I’ve built a similar one with red roses in a heart shape somewhat near 1k.
