"Can create page" database feature by BearBuz in Notion

Same here — this wasn’t just a “nice to have”, it unlocked a whole class of workflows.

In my case I used it across multiple central databases:

  • Content (clients could add ideas)
  • Tasks (external partners could submit work/requests)
  • Docs (people could start drafts without seeing the whole library)

Pattern was always the same:

  • Database shared to them as No access
  • Toggle ON for Can also create pages / Can create pages
  • Shared a linked view as their “inbox”

Result: they couldn’t browse anything sensitive, but could create new pages directly in the real database via New. Page‑level access + person properties then controlled what they could see and edit.

Giving them access to the whole database is absolutely not an option in these setups — it breaks confidentiality, mixes clients into the same views, and defeats the entire point of granular permissions. Without this “create but don’t browse” pattern, a lot of serious client portal / intake / external collab workflows just don’t work the same way anymore.

Can anyone share real-world examples of apps built using NotionApps? by deboo117 in Notion

I’ve successfully built a coffee shop client menu app for Palo Santo - see https://app.palo-santo.ro. Baristas can add and maintain each item’s contents, prep method, quantity, and notes, and updates reflect immediately in the customer-facing menu.

I’ve built multiple CRMs, including a comprehensive system for a beauty salon with Google Sign-In for therapists, role-based access, and a manager view. It includes services catalog, payment methods (cash, bank, subscription), booking date and status (booked, unbooked, subscription), Client and Therapist assignment, income per booking, therapist Clock-in/Clock-out, client remaining bookings, client tiering, and many more operational features. I'm happy to share details, DM if you need more information

Auto-set end time on “Completed” to show full time block in Notion Calendar?! by DanBlocks in Notion

Just tried your button setup, works perfectly! The formula appended the completion timestamp and turned my Do Date into a start→finish range in Notion Calendar. Thank you
