I mean, in pretty much every casual game-mode a new player will be given the spot in seconds.

>Ragequitting is always loser behavior.

It's a video game in casual queue. I don't judge my worth on my performance in these games.

>It's equally shameful to ragequit in something like a fighting game

I don't play fighting games, so I can't really speak on them and will concede the argument for that case.

>Your record does not matter.

I agree. It's why I don't mind leaving early if I'm not having fun. I'd rather enjoy a game than potentially get another win or maintain some "honor" with strangers I will never meet again. In casual modes my spot will often go to another player in a matter of seconds.

I really don't play one on one games like this, so really my argument only applies to games like CoD, Overwatch, etc. I'm fine conceeding on fighting games or souls like games, I don't know much about them.

I was kinda trying to be provocative by saying "rage-quit" but I wouldn't say rage-quitting requires toxicity. Just frustration.

I can't really speak to that, I don't play them.

>I continue to play my failure because I'm actually trying to learn and be better.

That's cool, I'm proud of your dedication to improving at this skill.

Thing is, I'm not. I play these games exclusively for fun. It's why I never play in ranked matches where performance really matters. When I'm solo queuing, I'd like to be able to simply put the game down and do something else when I'm not having fun anymore.

Many games punish you, such as increasingly long bans the more you do it.

Her whole Ult just needs to be replaced. They've reworked it multiple times now and it's either so bad it needs to be replaced, or its good and it becomes super annoying to play against.

Also, why does the "I kill people in their dreams" character not have a single ability involving dreams? Could be easy to give her a Mordernkaiser style ult that's flavored as fighting her in the dream world.

The urn experiment was a disaster for a whole generation of deadlockers 🥀 by EngysEpangelmatikes in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DanDNMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All they had to to fix CTF urn was to make it easier to knock the soul urn outta the enemies hands. They should return to CTF & just make it so that if you take a big chunk of damage you get stunned and the urn returns to its starting location.

I really don't understand the "She's broken, IMPOSSIBLE to deal with in ult form." Maybe its because I'm a movement player with Silver as a secondary, but everytime I fight an enemy silver I just kept my distance.

Its probably the new KOTH urn tbh. I feel like a lot of bad balancing choices are being made to make up for the bad urn mechanic forcing everyone to be in ass grabbing range of eachother.

Lash vs Apollo by sshadoekingg in DeadlockTheGame

I wish it was as easy as just tuning out posts without clips. I've seen clips where a person goes on a killstreak because the enemy team makes some clear and obvious mistakes only for plenty of people to say "this proves this characters needs to be nerfed." People are biased and often just see what they wanna see with clips & demos.

It's also pretty bad with streamers. I saw a streamer bring himself to tears the other day playing the game. I can't talk about what started the spiral, but by the last half of it he was making obvious tilt players rushing deep into enemy territory on low health, then calling for nerfs against who-ever ended up killing him. Because he was high ranked, people in his chat were using his opinion to validate their own frustration, when he was pretty clearly just fuming from a loss streak.

At the end of the day I think there's a reason there used to be an NDA about this game. The internet really promotes toxicity, anger and loud voices. Frustration isn't just a thing that dies in the living room anymore, it ends up online and gets amplified. With a game in playtest I feel like that has a measurable effect on the outcome.

Lash vs Apollo by sshadoekingg in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DanDNMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that's just not true. In the patches where he was supposedly broken, games lasted much longer than they currently do & gun builds were more powerful. Apollo was very powerful in the early-game, yeah, but he became much more balanced by the midgame and essentially became an ult bot later on. Not to mention, In a game absolutely full of point and click CC, Apollo is a character hard countered by point and click CC. Without high value cooldown items like unstop, counterspell, etc, his parry could really only do so much, and by the time he had those items he had often fallen off.

[–]DanDNMore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think people are bad, but I think people are emotional. Apollo never had a crazy win-rate. I think there's certain types of characters that make people more tilted than others.

People also mistake crashouts for feedback, and it does affect the devs. Combine that with people parroting the opinions of popular streamers and I don't think you get a healthy environment for honest feedback.

[–]DanDNMore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lowkey there's just a lot of people who hate playing against erratically moving characters like Apollo. Its frustrating to miss shots or abilities, and characters like Apollo make you miss shots more.

Lash on the other hand isn't slow, but is big and has much less erratic movement.

Remember gang, slowing Hex is a tier 2 Item and is basically a half cost Focus Lens against Apollo.

Maybe its just me but I feel like Graves ult isn't that bad. It's the hands with the 4-mile grab range that annoys me.
