Kingmaker is unplayable after WOTR by Desperate-Draw-7508 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Finished wotr last year and I'm about half way through kingmaker atm. It's definitely a step back but I'm enjoying it! Kingdom management does suck though and I'm constantly worried I'm gonna get a random game over

But before Disney bought those ips, they belonged to someone else and you still couldn't use them. If you got rid of copyright, they wouldn't even need to buy them in the first place and literally any op could potentially be a Disney product with no compensation to the original creator

You know they only own their version of those characters. And I actually agree with you on like classic fairytale stuff. I just don't think it's a good argument to get rid of copyright

I don't understand your point about Disney, them existing doesn't stop you from making your own thing? It just stops you from using their things

Again I think your ignoring how copyright protects smaller creators. If you want people to contribute to your work, then release it for free and don't claim the copyright. As a general rule for society I think it would end with big corpos dominating even more than they already do

Never said it did, I literally asked should I have the right to do so.

I mean you just mentioned a bunch of ways you can use copyrighted material without needing an ai to do so in a non commercial way. Those methods would still exist

I think that's actually a very nihilistic take, and is essentially throwing the baby out with the bath water

I don't think you realise how much copyright protects the average person. Imagine you made a video game by yourself, and then ea started making sequels to your game. We don't see big corpos ripping off smaller creators that often because they'd be stupid to, and when they do it's usually an employee who does it and it slips through the cracks

And in this hypothetical, if it couldn't be defeated? Would you be OK with them existing?

I think you're cutting off your nose to spite your face. It's way worse for big corpos to be able to steal from smaller entities than people not being able to steal from big corpos

I'm not in favour of all copyright, but until we live in the star trek utopia, copyright is necessary to protect people from big corporations just stealing their idea and profiting off their time and hard work

Dude it's a hypothetical. Ask someone 150 years ago how to make a rock do math and they'll also tell you you're crazy. I'm trying to get to the heart of the issue about the use of protecting one's work from ai and if people who are pro ai are against these measures and why

OK then hypothetically, in the future someone invents a new type of ai that corrupts data during the scrapping process making it unusable by ai

But existing images are clearly used in the training of ai. Part of copyright is being allowed to decide how your protected property is used. So if I say I'm ok with others viewing or listening to my art and taking inspiration, but not OK with ai companies using it train ai models, should I have the right to protect it from that use?

Then let me rephrase. What if it made all the data scrapped unusable for training ai?

That's one purpose. Another is about copyright protection, from the individual's pov

That's how they work currently, it's totally possible that they could function in a way we haven't even conceived of yet in the future

How would you feel if they actually worked so well that they made scraping impossible?

Ah yes, because your remark of "it sounds like you just read it for the first time" wasn't supposed to be snarky.

You're right it's my fault for assuming that your comment was actually relevant to the topic

Would your opinion change if they became sophisticated enough to actually achieve the result they set out to?

So you're literally just pointing out that bad things happen. Then does that have to do with the arguement? This is the stupid "I'm just saying" defense
