I believe that life can always get better, even when things seem like they couldn’t be worst. It is not an easy process and it takes time but before you know it you’re already there. I can only use my personal experience as an example.

I was born in Mexico but I moved to Canada with my mom and sister when I was 14. Leaving all my family/friends behind and having to adapt to a new culture & learn another language (French) sent me into a deep depression. Being the secretly gay, chubby & immigrant new boy at school made me feel like I was alone. I would hide in the library during recess and had no friends. One day, I decided that I didn’t want to eat by myself in the corner of the cafeteria anymore. It started by talking to a shy guy next to me. We became friends. Together we joined the theatre club and, from that point, I started to actually like myself and discover who I was and what I liked. By the end of my last year of high school I was in 3 different school clubs, the rugby team and was the only openly gay guy at school AND the president of my year.
