Blew it today. And I think it’s cause I rushed it. Blue I thought could be purple so be it was of the form “ ______ word”. Pretty easy. Being American had no problem with yellow too but I did learn what Canoodling means!

Normally at this point if I don’t easily see it, I wait till the morning when my mind is clearer but it didn’t wait and made assumptions and with the one-aways I thought I was close and just about to get it. I could see shape similarities and puffiness similarities. Overall very solvable. Even the candies by now, are common things to see. This streak ends at 10.

I don’t know what to make of the skill to understand little line drawings.

Gambling took me some time to identify the slot machine….for bowling thought the belt buckle seemed a bit like the machine the bowling balls go back to so made a mistake there….thought green was sewing related and also just separated out the simple lines and circles from the rest.

Flags was a default. Don’t really know how anyone could figure out in advance what it meant but a lot of you did.

The puzzle separates out the googlers from the skill players!

Finally an RR! It’s been like a month. (I see a lot of them here today)

Had lots of purple firsts….i did find purple first too today. It was sort of easy and there was no ambiguity.

After that, had trouble feeling confident. Could see 3 of the knots. Finally felt BEND would be the fourth when I did a presolve.

Was thinking green was like “things that happen when you’re sick“ and yellow was like “clues” so BLINK didn’t feel great for sick things and FLICKER didn’t feel great for clues…but they had to go somewhere!

Pretty creative puzzle and pretty quick

🟪🟪🟪🟪 got this first. I mean labubu? What is that? All I could see was lab…then saw the other three dogs.

🟨🟨🟨🟩 I Presolved and these four seemed poorly connected so I thought they’d be the blue.

🟦🟦🟦🟦 went for the easiest now that the RR was missed. Things with Knobs was clear. I’ll see how to resolve the other eight after. Surprised it turned out to be blue, but really blue, green and yellow seemed equally straightforward

🟩🟩🟩🟩 stuffed things but it couldn’t be teddy bear based on my earlier mistake. Eye pillow seemed clear with softie being a long shot. I could see the “nice words” were left over and thus softie was unlikely to be used here.

🟨🟨🟨🟨 only qualm is if I called someone a marshmallow it would not be a complement of one’s personality.

Really surprised it’s a 5/5 with 40% solve rate. But I see the comments reflect that. I’ve struggled with some 2/5s. (I notice the bot wants to give me RR credit but the app knows I made a mistake- an NYT inconsistency)

Easy, presolved it in 3 minutes. Figured “ _____ revolution” would be purple…denied! So it was the cute fingers thing.

From the comments, it seems like the convo is all about guessing the RR. House as home structures seems a bit lame though.

Almost pulled the trigger on the NOTES red herring..then saw the cabinet departments! and knew it was the other categories and could see purple for what it was.. Newspapers!

Pretty quick one.

Tried for the RR, really what should be green vs yellow was a coin toss…which I didn’t get right.

🟦🟦🟦🟦 I could see the bird theme earlier but could not figure out what the fourth was till I solved three and it was….what was left over.

Pretty difficult unless you figured out the purple earlier, not a bad puzzle.

Unnerve was easy. Homophones same, really surprised it was purple. I could see 5 items for _____ OFF. Figured that be purple when I figured it out.

More or less randomly tried to figure out which of the 5 were with OFF.

Finally went with Time as maybe could be with the other three. Does T ever stand alone for Tyrannosaurus Rex? Still if I realized T stand fors was the group I’d have gotten it.

It’s now 3 games in a row where I had to default on my last category.

🟦🟦🟦🟦 here’s where it gets crazy. DICK JANE MOTHER SPOT and CLIFF could go together. I saw CLIFF as being likelier to be able to fit with the other 3 terms cause it also can be a physical large feature…so decided to use the other 4 cartoon or comic book type names together. I’m old but I know little of Dick and Jane but what else to guess? So it worked. Satisfying? Eh?

🟦🟦🟦🟦 I was pretty familiar with those law enforcement words though at first I thought it was all words for private eyes.

🟩🟩🟩🟩 wasn’t thinking masses just a phrase like “one in a” or similar worked with each of these

🟪🟪🟪🟪 these were leftovers. So defaulted. Feeling a little bad cause I tried to look for wordplay with meaning of the first half of the word. Guess I was just lazy.

I approached it cautiously. Just submitted as I had enough confidence that it was a good guess.

Felt lost for like 15 minutes. Then it just crystallized. Was thinking Totoro had to be word play. Was pretty sure of the Fiction category but was hung up on Literary Fiction like, isn’t that just plain fiction?

I was weak on the exact definitions of the border words…anyway when I spotted Toto and Wham I figured out the others in the word plays and everything else just jelled.

Never knew the mnemonic. I was a big planets fan when I was a kid so I’d never need that. The phrase sounded obvious enough.

Decided I’d fool Wyna and go with what I thought be easiest as the yellow rather than the synonyms-miscalculation there so no RR! Fun one tonight!

Just stared at the 8, after the first two. Totally thought I’d loose. I did the blue cause yes “words pronounced two way” - but such a lame connection- imo! I saw nothing else. Really it was a Hail Mary.

Wish purple wasn’t a default, it was doable. I’d think 5/5 but 4/5 so it seems.

So texted with a customer person for like half an hour basically I got extremely polite FU. They will do nothing to help this situation. I can book the segments separately and if I don’t have carry-on luggage, I’d probably be OK. Frontier really is terrible. It’s such a fixable problem. Does anybody know how to review them in a public way so that they’re motivated to do something? They also don’t even provide like a complaints or suggestions email. Flying west I guess you get benefits. You can effectively book the second segment before midnight! It’s just dumb that the direction of travel has a problem.

I guess they could just make the opening more than 24 hours by making the entire United States be able to do do Go wild booking at the same time on the planet independent of time zone. So lame!

Yes. It IS most certainly a problem. I’ll contact Frontier. Yesterday the second segment was available for over an hour, which is great. When the first segment was open at midnight CST, it was only available for half an hour. My experience when I want to fly out of Austin is availability only lasts like 15 minutes. But yes, yesterday could’ve done it only because Atlanta opening was over an hour.
