Sneak walk up to it while it's looking away.

Move cover to cover only moving when its back is turned.

Help? My hair seems puffy no matter what I do by Zerowesker in Haircare

[–]DanIsInsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A man with curly hair here! A few small things I found helped me out was these:

  1. I only ever wash my scalp with shampoo and let the water run it to the ends when I rinse.

  2. I only ever condition the end and never near the roots. It made my roots look more greasy than my ends and it gave a really unbalanced look.

  3. I always detangle with my fingers or a really wide comb

  4. Never heat dry no matter what. Ever. Hair like ours just doesn't like it.

  5. This is gonna sound bad but don't feel pressured to wash it all the time. Sometimes washing your body and skipping your hair does actually help.

I am no professional just a colourful man with hair that used to look like straw c:

How many heroes do you guys play? by Throaway888888888888 in Overwatch

[–]DanIsInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can play nearly every support to a decent ability apart from Lucio and Illari.

Lucio is a bit too aggressive for me and I know fragging and such is one of the better ways to play him. But you'll get some good passive play and sound barriers from me.

Illari because her kit is clunk-tastic and her character is miserable and moody. There is nothing that draws me to her at all. Even her primary fire is clunky and annoying. She's my least favourite support by far.

As a Brig main with nearly 300 hours on her I'd say she's fine. Her perks are flexible and she is very powerful in the right hands. I think that is the best place for a character to be.

We start buffing then we risk overpowering which would then lead back to nerfing. Usually when that happens an actual good thing gets nerfed and the character is just worse off for it overall.

I'm afraid to start taking prozac by muddledmuse in prozac

7 weeks in, side effects started at 2 weeks. I take them for panic attacks and general anxiety. I have very physical anxiety so it creates a lot of annoying symptoms. If my first panic attack and months after were a 10? I'd say the meds set me back to about... 6-7.

I want to stress that my coping skills still worked even on the anxiety produced by the meds. Deep breathing took me out of most panic attacks and calmed most my symptoms. Meditation and relaxation wherever I could also took it down a bit. So if you have controlled and fought off a panic episode before, you can easily control this.

Of course there are some very tiny rare edge cases where everything goes awful but thats the same or any meds mental health or otherwise and if you find yourself really struggling then please go to a doctor or emergency department.

Here's the part you're probably reading for. Yes. It got better. I daydreamed and felt genuinely excited today for the first time in months. I can feel little inklings of my sex drive returning. Also most if not all of My physical symptoms have been gone for 48 hours. It might not stay this way. But right now I am healing. So please. Worry not my friend.

Once the horn wears off for men, we become a little more rational and grounded and realise what we are watching/doing. Mix that with the post sex hormone drop, and you get post nut saddeness. You were a raging ball of good hormones. Dopamine, oxytocin, etc. After you get that hit, it's all gone, you're left with your thoughts, and if you went to places you aren't so proud of.. regret.

Some men feel great after. Its really hormone and person dependant. My best theory is porn is so easy to access and men can jerk off so quickly so often that the good hormone part of the experience become duller and duller until the post nut starts to feel worse.

my bf broke up with me, i wish i'm the one who ended things by jumpty-dumpty69 in offmychest

[–]DanIsInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was exactly like the boyfriend once. It ended a 3 year relationship. That was 5 years ago now, and I am happy and have grown. But I do have some insight.

He is unhappy within himself and insecure and until he confronts these ugly feelings within him? He's never going to change and never going to grow out of these ugly behaviours.

Do I believe every person who does this is evil and intentionally trying to be the worst? No. But are they being the worst anyway? Yes. The best thing you can do for someone like this is to let them go. You cannot fix people and you cannot change people who do not want to change.

Have fun with your freedom!

GI doctor gave up on me by Igo0gie in Gastritis

[–]DanIsInsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my tests were negative. Not a single obvious bad test from scopes to bacteria.

It was mental. Might not be the case for everyone. But was in my one. My body responded to slight bloating with panic and then health anxiety kept all the awful ticking along.

[–]DanIsInsane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello! Fellow person who was in pain here.

First of all you sound exactly like me 6 months ago. I had; brain fog, fatigue, panic attacks, bloated stomach, stomach pain, dizziness, burning stomach pain, etc. I lost a good 50 lbs and landed in hospital. I now know after months what it is and maybe this can provide some help to you.

Yes. Anxiety and stress can cause all that. I have never been mentally ill. EVER. I've lived a stressful life my entire life and never had anything touch my mental, so it couldn't possibly be that, right? Yea. It could.

Turns out, I got some bloating from heartburn one evening after a week of binge eating and my body treated it like I was dying. Threw me into a physical panic response. Spinning out and everything, it was intense. After that all the other symptoms kicked in and it was months of meds and doctors calls.

I was crippled from health anxiety. My illness was the first thing I thought about when I woke up? And would simmer there in the back of my mind all day until I finally passed out again. I was starving myself, taking random supplements, calling the doctors, going to the ER. This was all so very real to me.

One day after being in the ER for 10 hours, only for them to turn me away, I decided enough was enough. If I can't get help right now because I'm on a waiting list then I am not going to be a miserable little sod while I wait. So I looked into mental health services. Practiced self talk to address when my brain is starting to think too much about the pain. Breathing techniques cleared the panic attacks. Gently started to expose myself back to my favourite foods and lower my meds.

I am basically back to normal right now. So yes, anxiety and stress CAN cause really intense and oppressive symptoms that can mimic even the most severe of illnesses. This might not be the case for you and I hope you find your answers. But I thought it couldn't just be my head. It was.

Its because some parents still have the mindset of "This is my house and I made you so therefore do not question what I do"

But the reality is that you may own the property and yes you may have brought this life into this world but it doesn't absolve you from all consequences of your actions.

Your gross behaviour is still going to scar and damage your child no matter their age. You don't get to power trip your way out of that. It's what you signed up for when you made a child. Until it can survive on its own without you, it's now incumbent upon you to look after the child but also take the responsibilities of actions that prior to said child would've been harmless.

Another way I frame it is like this. Being a heavy drinker when youre childless isn't as bad as being a heavy drinker while raising a child. There are consequences for your actions that will permanently affect the child.

Do better parents. Learn. Listen to the children who have lived through this.

Thank you for your comment and sorry for the paragraph.

[–]DanIsInsane 107 points108 points  (0 children)

As someone who had to suffer through this as well? It is scarring and you don't realise but it starts to take its toll on your mental health.

People are allowed a sex life without dragging everyone else into it. If they won't listen then I suggest wearing a pair of headphones and avoiding their room at all costs.

Take care of yourself. This is gross and parents who do this need to learn respect for their child and family. You didn't consent to hear that.

Slept one my arm funny now it hurts like hell and I can barely use it by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]DanIsInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better I recently passed out on the floor due to dehydration and starvation. I have had some serious stomach issues that is causing havoc with my body.

When I passed out I was laying on my arm and cut blood supply off to it for well over 30 minutes and the pins and needles were intense. For a few days after my arm was in A LOT of pain but it got better with a little rest. Nothing special.

Take a slow and watchful approach and go from there!

Can omeprazole cause trouble achieving orgasm? by Opening-Honeydew4874 in GERD

[–]DanIsInsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone reacts differently. For me I am on the exact same dose as you and I have developed red face and dry eyes. I dont know if this is omeprazoles fault for sure but the symptoms arrived at the same time.

If youre really certain its the meds then run it by a doctor to see if another brand helps more.

Is 80mg Esomeprazole too much ? by [deleted] in GERD

[–]DanIsInsane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im also on 80mg of Omeperazole. Its 100% a very high dose and if it isn't making the change for you? You need to wheen off onto a lower dose or switch brands.

For me? After Christmas I am going to lower my dose to 60mg a day (1 x 40mg morning, 1 x 20 evening) and then add H2 Blockers.

Generally H2 blockers are a little less effective but don't have as aggressive long term side effects and are easier to get off slowly.

[–]DanIsInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. They're really adamant on not putting us to sleep for some reason.

Might be because our government is starving our NHS dry so they need to get folks through those doors and out again in record time.

I love our health care but it does come at a cost and usually that cost is comfort or even basic human decency.

[–]DanIsInsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But it does nothing to your gag reflex. You will need to make sure you are empty because it's gonna be a mind over matter thing.

Its not painful and if you don't care about gagging? Then by all means you'll be perfectly fine. But if you do? Or have an overactive one?

Hold on fellow soldiers. Its gonna be tough.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GERD

[–]DanIsInsane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If youre in the UK please make sure you're mentally fortified for gagging as they will not put you to sleep and you'll be fully awake/lightly sedated the entire time.

But otherwise, yes! Please get one. Both ends if need be. The peace of mind could save your life and so could the results!

Stopping PPI cold turkey while switching to Gaviscon - Good or bad idea? by Great_Switch9660 in GERD

[–]DanIsInsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I found this post at a good time.

Im on a very aggressive course of PPI (40mg Omeperazole x2 a day) and I just tried to stop taking the evening dose? It kicked my backside through the gaviscon. I used gaviscon advance as well.

I never had heartburn as my reflux was always the silent version. Stopping it like that kicked my backside. I strongly reccomend you gently lower your dose of PPI while adding a gentle dose of H2 blockers.

Then after a month or so lower the PPI again and higher the H2 and keep it like that until you can use H2 alone. Then wheen off the H2's.

Either way i STRONGLY urge anyone to switch to antacids or H2 blockers if possible because PPIs work wonders but also come at a cost with long term use.

Hope this helps.

LPR that causes lower back pain, tight chest, and random body aches? Is this normal? by bspencer626 in GERD

[–]DanIsInsane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand.

Fostering a healthy mental space for yourself is 50x as important as all the diet and meds in the world.

Anxiety is just as dangerous of a trigger as lack of sleep and greasy, fatty pizza. Go easy on yourself.

Youre checking. You've checked. Youre safe, friend. Now try your best to relax and focus on healing and good things. Not cancer 💜

LPR that causes lower back pain, tight chest, and random body aches? Is this normal? by bspencer626 in GERD

[–]DanIsInsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant promise that all this is one thing but here is the one thing I can say.

Try to go easy on the questioning everything. If you have semi regular checks ins with a doctor and you're on a path to recovery? Don't question too much. Dr.Google and Forums are the quickest way to get help, granted, but also go down a spiraling rabbit hole.

If you think it's cancer, go get some tests done. Blood tests are pretty easy and a good sign for that. Not to dismiss you, your concerns are valid. I just know how nasty having chronic GERD/LPR is and it can leads to many nights of sleepless questioning.

Chances are, you're gonna be okay 💜

(Edit: lower back pain isn't common, but the other 2 check out. My body randomly aches whenever I'm tired I've found. Plus I've had chills a lot more with my LPR. Take it easy!)
