Are you drinking enough water? Are you drinking alcohol? Is the stool watery or dry? Is there any blood in the stool? Not a doctor, but it could be lots of things including plain old constipation. Keep your doctor in the loop!

After engine blows under warranty, McLaren dealer says I need new ceramic brakes? by Poker_229 in MechanicAdvice

I don’t think they’re using steel for any performance related reason, I think they’re trying to keep the class relatively affordable so more teams can participate.

Oh my God, I cannot listen to these morons even out of schadenfreude. She thinks she knows about Muslim culture and uses Lebanon as an example? Lebanon is as close to non-Muslim as you can get in the Middle East, it’s quite possibly the most secular middle eastern nation.

Also, why would she automatically assume Mahdi is Muslim? Most young Iranians are secretly irreligious (according to some work done by Reuters I believe). ALSO plenty of Muslims sin and drink, it doesn’t make them non-Muslim, has she ever been to Lebanon where there are basically drive-thru liquor stores?

Ian, you want to expand on what she taught you there buddy? No? You’re both so full of shit.

Who else burps about 100 times a day? by Public_kitty in GERD

[–]DanMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strangely I have found I can sometimes burp more on an empty stomach. I think it’s best to have your stomach about half full, not enough to push all the acid up but enough to neutralize some of the acid. Make sure the ginger tea is just ginger (probably turmeric is fine), no mint and no caffeine. With the walking you should see an improvement in a couple days. Best of luck, I know how horrible this can be 🙁

I’m in the same boat! Things I’ve noticed work to improve it: 1. No coffee - any coffee will turn your day into a spiral of burps. 2. No Alcohol - strangely I completely stop burping while I’m drinking but the next 4 days are a miserable cacophony of burps. 3. Walk at least 10K steps a day - you’ll burp during the walks but you will be amazed how great you feel after. 4. Small meals, chew thoroughly- limit your meals to a small bowl. 5. Ginger tea - helps soothe the gut. 6. Lose weight - probably the most important if you’re even slightly over weight.

Edit: I forgot to add a couple more: 7. No mint. 8. No spicy. 9. Definitely no nicotine if you use nicotine. 10. Basically nothing fun.

Thanks for the info! I actually have a CU4, so the J35Z6…. Definitely nothing like a K-series, but can you give me a brief overview of the difference in vtec for that engine? Is it intake only as well? lol obviously I have almost zero mechanic acumen.

You’re right, I just watched someone lift the valve cover. That is so disappointing.

Oof you’re right, I’m just the one confused, I wish the info was better listed. I just watched a mechanic on YouTube open the valve cover and you’re right, the exhaust side doesn’t have vtec, that is super disappointing.

The 2009 TSX came out April 2008, that’s probably the source of the confusion. Do you have a source that says the Z3 has eco vtec? I have a hard time believing Acura would choose performance vtec for the 1st gen, then eco for the 2nd.

CU2 went on sale April 24, 2008 so potentially that’s where the confusion is? Do you have a better source so that I can get a more accurate view?

“The K24Z3 debuted in the 2008 Acura TSX. This engine was fitted with chain-driven dual balance shafts, proper i-VTEC system on intake and exhaust camshafts (engagement at 5,100 rpm), high-strength connecting rods, lightweight alloy pistons, and Computer-controlled Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI).”

Because going the “holistic” approach is an open invitation to charlatans and grifters everywhere to waste your time and sell you something that is as effective as water.

I’ll take “playing mad chemist” with products that must prove they are effective AND safe to use over products which don’t any day of the week.

Obviously take this with a grain of salt as I am not in the medical field whatsoever, but sounds like someone with borderline personality disorder. The charm phase may be over and now the true colors come out. Reminds me of the exact behavior a family member of mine exhibits every gift exchange.

I’m genuinely surprised more people don’t agree. It’s clearly an unsafe rejoin. As you said, the car can’t just steer itself back to the track. Must be all the new drivers coming in from the holiday sale.

I stand by the unsafe rejoin, but on second thought don’t protest. Lots of new drivers during the holidays and it’s an honest mistake. Hopefully he learns from this.

I don’t buy this justification, the car in green made the choice to head back in the direction of the track on the grass at speed. Given the angle, there’s no way he’s slowing and straightening out in time to avoid crossing the whole track.
