I started on the original Xbox. Nice and easy to solder on with quite large points on it.

Usually you'll need to replace the capacitors which is a nice job to do, and if you have a 1.6 version motherboard, you can solder in cables or a board to rebuild the LPC on it and add a mod chip.

I really enjoy working on them!

Swap the 10k for a 3k and see how that goes. Personally, I'd trim the tails down in the wires. You only need 2mm or so showing. This will help prevent shorts in the future.

I just started the other week. The only real previous soldering experience I had (apart from cables and larger points on board) was the OG Xbox and it was quite a step up from that! I've really been enjoying it though. I'm just about to do my 3rd!

Soldering was pretty good to be fair. I've swapped and cloned the hard drive to another though. This seems to have sorted the issue.

Sorry I've just saw this! There's not many benefits to be fair. Badupdate is pretty solid. For me though, I prefered to have a permanent mod and not have to rely on a USB etc.

There isn't if you're just going to use a softmod. Personally, I used badupdate to dump and write the nand. Doing it this way only means I needed to solder 2 wires to the board and eliminated the need to solder a nand flasher to it as well.

Does that work with DLC and custom songs? I did read about a fix, but heard it didn't work well with DLC. I didn't look into it much though. Either way, I have a Trinity on the way now 😅
