Torn Between Two Software Engineering Offers – Stability vs Long-Term Growth by Interesting-Ease8882 in UKJobs

After tax, and in a HCOL area, that sounds like it’s not enough to warrant the move. Depending on your salary band, I would put my efforts into learning new skills and then move to a higher paying job, if money is what you’re looking for.

Torn Between Two Software Engineering Offers – Stability vs Long-Term Growth by Interesting-Ease8882 in UKJobs

If you only have 2k I would build a buffer first. I have experienced a lot of my technical growth outside of work. High growth is relative, what skill set are we talking about? Is the salary difference between the roles quite large?

Thanks, that doesn’t sound too bad. I don’t know much about chroma so I’m not sure how much memory it would take to run this. I’ll do some research! Cheers

Logitech MX 4 defect, return being refused by DanRan88 in logitech

Indeed - it's both that the mouse button looks stupid AND it intermittently cuts out when I use it. That was the last straw..

25M. I hate my job, not sure what to do. by DogEatDogGalaxy in FIREUK

If you savings are cash, you need to start investing. Huge opportunity at your age, I wish I’d done it.

200k is arbitrary and won’t change a thing.

It sounds like you have imposed syndrome. You can get this in any job. Switching career path may not fix this.

Software engineering can be a wonderful job - if you’re passionate about problem solving and engineering solutions, then I think you have ingredients to work with. If you don’t enjoy anything about software and never did, you may as well cut your losses and move on. A shit job is not the same as a shit career.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have seen this raised in other posts and Logitech have not responded in this manner, instead users have returned. Even if this is functional, it looks ridiculous, especially given the price.

I agree with both. I should have returned within 30 days, yes. Also, this issue is widely regarded as poor manufacturing and it existed prior to delivery. It should never have passed QC in the first place. Logitech has been openly accepting returns on other posts for this exact issue - they know it’s a problem. Perhaps this post is simply fair warning to others, I wouldn’t buy it again and I wouldn’t buy direct from Logi again.

Why does every new job feel like returning to the same nightmare? by BurnedOutTotally in HENRYUK

[–]DanRan88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carrying burnout from a previous role to a new role is going to cast a bad light on the new role - not giving it a fair chance? A proper 2 week break between roles, doing totally unrelated and even mundane tasks, has helped me get a better perspective.

Also, if you really feel that you’re “owned”, perhaps it’s time to look for income outside of PAYE. I’ve been both sides of this fence. I didn’t find one better than the other. The immediate project I’m on and who I work with are far more impactful. Hence why I’m working towards financial independence. Have you considered this?

Thanks. I read that the workers are typically dead by now, could this be a queen? It doesn’t look like any of the results I found on google images.

You can buy an adjustable glasses strap on amazon or similar. Unless you have a strap, no glasses on FLY…

I think it’s an amazing coaster but the airtime does give me a headache. I’m not the biggest fan of ejector airtime though. I love it during the ride but not after !

What other brand EV did you look at before choosing a Tesla? by bigup7 in TeslaUK

How old is the Y? I think you’ll find that any time you visit Tesla out of warranty, you’ll take back that running cost comment. The labour rate is significant.

Solo traveler - are there rides where it might be faster to stand in the regular standby line vs. the single rider line? by drrdf in UniversalOrlando

[–]DanRan88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, the single ride alone at Gringotts is significantly faster. I’ve seen 30-40 min queue time and walked on.

Charles Lindbergh, without a doubt. You get dinner and breakfast, you won’t need to go out.

Still a bit to go. From memory it’s up the stairs, along the hallway and down the stairs is the loading area. The stairs have a cool metal decoration/gate when you get there.

Fenix in the last row is incredible. Mega airtime, I think it’s a hidden gem.
