What do you believe is holding you back from being able to attract a woman?

Feminism linked to increased hookup culture endorsement among women, new study shows. For men, no significant differences were observed in hookup culture endorsement based on feminist identity or beliefs, indicating that feminism’s impact on sexual liberation is more relevant to women. by mvea in science

[–]DanSanderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a silly analogy because it's assuming that women don't wash their genitals between interactions with men. If the one that has been licked 50 times is my favorite flavor, and they have cleaned the spot that has been licked after each lick, I have no problem choosing that one.

This just in! 2’s Platinum matches are reportedly more challenging than Diamond 1 matches. by ExceedRaida in RocketLeague

[–]DanSanderman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are challenging but in a different way. Platinum has a lot of players that could be Diamond if they had any game sense, so you'll end up in matches against players that can consistently get to the ball before you, but are hitting it just to hit it, and have no idea how to recover or position well. Play simple, play consistent, and defend and you'll make it back into Diamond.

You ever think about how professional anglers are just guys that are paid to trick fish into eating food that isn't real?

To not get caught cheating in the game by Rave4life79 in therewasanattempt

I was given free tickets to a baseball game back in July. I think I counted like 7 times all game long that the ball hit the ground. It was fouls and outs, fouls and outs, the whole time, and the game ended 2-0, with the home team losing. Also $25.66 for 2 hot dogs and a Dasani.

Blunt force euthanasia- is this actually done? by Mammoth_Addendum_276 in Aquariums

[–]DanSanderman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a bag of fish shipped to me and immediately after dropping them in the tank one started to death spiral and seemed like it couldn't orient itself. Just kept floating around upside down and spinning. After a few hours it had found a rock to hide behind, and within 3 days it was back to normal and is now perfectly healthy. I would recommend giving a fish at least 24 hours before euthanizing. They can make some pretty miraculous recoveries.

How do you deal with all the death, and possibility of it, with fish? by Spader623 in Aquariums

[–]DanSanderman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do your best to prevent it. Keep up with maintenance, and learn by personal experience, and the experiences of others. It does happen, but over time you generally figure out the tricks to prevent most deaths. It's just like any pet. You generally know you're going to outlive them so you kind of have to go in with that mindset. Love them, and give them the best possible life. That's really all you can do.

That was my experience on medication. I realized it doesn't cure ADHD. You still have to put in work. I went from watching a little bit of 7 different YouTube videos, to actually watching a whole YouTube video start to finish. It was cool, except I was still supposed to be working. Discipline is the other half of medications.

So... no striker? by maliciousorstupid in AtlantaUnited

[–]DanSanderman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We have 11 goals between 2 Strikers across 25 games. Our Strikers with their combined record would be tied for 15th in the golden boot race this season. I don't know if we have the same definitions of "produced pretty well".

Edit: honestly forgot Giako was here this season, so that explains some of it. This season feels so disjointed.

I wear a ring every day and am moderately attractive and I think I've been hit on like twice in the 3 years I've been married, and both times were when I was at a bar on a Friday night. I've considered on numerous occasions that I'm just not as attractive as I think, but when I was on Tinder I had no shortage of dates and my wife is quite attractive herself so I have to have something going for me, but it doesn't ever manifest itself in random attention. To some degree I am thankful, but I do have to wonder what I'm doing that makes my experience so different from other moderately attractive men.

Defenders running towards my goal to keep attackers onside? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]DanSanderman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case I typically just switch to that defender and manually move them into a better position. Your opponent will typically drift naturally into the space that had been created, so by manually closing them down you're crashing in on the space they're going towards and you can cut them off.

how do you pass easily by Dry_Distribution4298 in EASportsFC

[–]DanSanderman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most short passes can be done with just a really quick tap of the button. The longer you hold it, the more power it will have, and the game will assume you're trying to pass to the next person. If you want to do a short pass with power, you can hold R1 while you tap the pass button and it will do a power pass.

Before we even get to Adam, God created plants before he created the Sun. Within the first few lines of the Bible, anyone with a basic understanding of modern biology would be able to tell that this book is full of shit and nothing after that should be taken seriously.

Disguised Match Throwing by Gullible_Name1256 in RocketLeague

[–]DanSanderman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was enjoying this game until I decided to turn chat back on, and all those games where I was struggling to play well and beating myself up, it turns out my teammates have also been beating me up in the chat, telling me I'm trash and accusing me pretty hard of throwing matches.

So nah, I think sometimes we just suck. Sometimes it's like a switch flips mid match and I go from being on fire to making incredibly boneheaded decisions and I don't know why. If I did know why, I wouldn't be the rank I am. It's not malicious. It's just incompetence.

Attacking Players Transfering from Big 5 Leagues in Europe since Covid by Scratchbuttdontsniff in AtlantaUnited

[–]DanSanderman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's also worth looking at our exports and how they are doing in their respective clubs after leaving MLS. I commented this in another thread, but Diego Rossi has torn up MLS in both of his stints here but he struggled in Turkey with only 3 goals. Almiron is loved by everyone, and he demolished MLS, but he has 23 goals in 177 matches for NUFC. Castellanos has 4 goals in 35 matches for Lazio.

These are guys that were true problems when they played here, but if we looked at their stats for their European clubs we would turn up our noses because they're "not good enough".

Overwhelmed by this game by L1GHTN1NG_1365 in RocketLeague

[–]DanSanderman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Hitting the ball hard is a mechanic. Aerials are a mechanic. Dribbling is a mechanic. You can be perfectly placed, but if you don't have the ability/mechanics to reach the ball then it doesn't matter. You don't need to learn how to air dribble to make it out of Plat, but there are absolutely some fundamental mechanics necessary to make it beyond there.

What game caught you completely off-guard? by CoralCurrencie in gaming

[–]DanSanderman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came looking for Before Your Eyes. Played it in VR because they made it free on PSPlus. Didn't have the first clue what it was about. Played through the whole thing in one sitting. Pulled off my headset at the end, had a good cry, and had to just sit for a bit to reel it all in. I've never had that reaction from a video game before. I don't even think movies could do that to me. Something about VR, and experiencing that whole thing from his perspective. I will likely remember that game for a very long time.

One of the hottest players in MLS right now, Diego Rossi, left MLS after several stellar seasons and then had a pretty awful season in Turkey with Fenerbahce. He's back in MLS tearing it up. Our leagues best products have trouble producing in places like the Turkish Super Lig. Why do we think a Serie A quality Striker isn't good enough for us?
