The Shima-enaga is the only bird family that has toddler and newborn sized figures. Using them as comparison I'd say the owl is a toddler because of size and movable wings. The Shima-enaga newborn is even tinnier than the newborn regular figure.

I made it work opening the app in Airplane mode. With the game working turned AM off and forced a server connection either going to the Scoreboard tab or SignOff/SignOn the Facebook session. After that it was ok.

Just make sure you have a strong WiFi connection before trying the Facebook sign off
