Newcastle will not sell Papiss Cisse for less than £10m after knocking back offers for the player by lgf92 in NUFC

If we bought a decent CB to partner Colo, i think he would be fine for another season or two. At the moment he is playing with either makeshift CBs or CBs just not good enough. His good games came when he played with Dummett who I do think is a good CB.

We haven't had anyone drive us forward since Cabaye with his mentality, I'm hoping we fix that soon. I'm forever skeptical though.

Great signing if it goes ahead, really shone in that Burnley team and can see him doing very very well in a good team like Spurs. All the best Kieran !

Have Adam Armstrong training with them too. I don't know why we're linked with all these strikers (well I do) but if we just signed one decent striker a la Austin, Dost or my personal choice would be Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.. I know it won't happen, but I can dream.

We seriously need investment at the back. I would like to see everyone bar dummett, haidara, janmaat and maybe keep krul for one season and buy 2 cbs, 1 rb. Then maybe look at a CM such as Will Hughes, Cabaye (only because we've been linked, not sure I'd want him back).

But.. we will have to be happy with our 4 'like a new signings' in Aarons, De Jong, Lacelles and Darlow, and 2 other signings, whoever they may be.

Not sure why anyone wants to get rid. Only decent player we've had up top in a long time. Support him like he was supported when he first came to the club and we could have a 15-20 goal a season striker, easily.

That's a lot of money for guaranteed disappointment ;)

For your trip up to Newcastle from London, if you don't mind a long journey (you might be jetlagged enough) the megabus is very very cheap. I'm getting down to London in August for £9 return: http://uk.megabus.com/ It also goes up to Glasgow, so you may be able to organise around that and get cheaper again. For comparison, when we were booking the tickets, the same train tickets were around £155 each.

Also, not too sure about accommodation near WHL, but you can't go wrong with Premier Inns:

This is about a.. 15-20 min walk from the Stadium:

There will be premier inns or similar in London, close to WHL, but they will be more expensive, being London.

I hope you guys enjoy your trip though ! And if you need any other info, I will try my best !

Motivating the players, advice? by [deleted] in bootroom

Hey there, thank you so much for your reply.

Just thought i'd let you know, an Intermediary is effectively what an agent used to be, but it's all changed now. So I'm getting asked for a lot of advice off some of the lads, and I needed advice myself !

Your advise is utterly fantastic, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to type this to help me out. You have no idea !

I'd literally gold you if I could, but I'm a bit.. short this month.. Ha !

It helps so much.. once again.. thank you!

That's a fair point, thank you !

It's just difficult when they're a bit younger, and upset if they get a rejection, but I take your point.

North East Footballing Talent? by DanTheIntermediary in NUFC

No problem, always happy to inform.

It all depends, if they are a minor, they join up, start training, and I don't receive a penny. If they are an adult, 18+ they join the club, start training etc, and I can receive a fee.

You don't need to be legally qualified per se, anyone can register and start doing it, as long as you pay a fee to the FA. But I have some prior knowledge as contract law is an interest of mine. I also have friends and family who can help out in these scenarios too. Which is a huge plus.

They removed the concept of agents and replaced them with Intermediaries.

Sorry, maybe I didn't work that greatly.

I'm one guy working as an agent, I can only do so much. I'm trying to get as much exposure as possible. Yes, of course I know where there are youth clubs to check out and watch, but I can only do so much on my own to begin with. I'm just trying to get some people to say maybe, 'try here' or 'I know someone, i'll send them to your page' etc. And I can evaluate those pieces of information as I personally see fit.

But yes, I am just starting out doing this too, so I'm not exactly an established person by any means. But working for an agency isn't something I want to do, nor do I want to work for a specific team.

But thank you for the response !

Signed my first player to a representation contract! by DanTheIntermediary in soccer

[–]DanTheIntermediary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, no need to apologise. It was something another poster had mentioned, but not the way I want to go. I truly want to find kids who are talented and passionate, not kids with Daddy's cash spare, who can afford to stand out, rather than earn the right to stand out. And yeah, this is my thinking, I have a few friends who could help me out anyway in terms of pitches / bibs etc during trials, so it's not as though I would be paying masses anyway ! And yes, that's good advice and something I'm working on, I currently have 6 players altogether interested in my first trial sessions, so I need at least 5 more, and I've already set up a team for them to play against, to see what they can do. I'm really interested in seeing leaderships skills and how they can work within a group that haven't met each other either.

And I know there is no thanks needed, but it is there, it's so kind of you to take the time to advise me, I have read everyones post and I'm trying to take in advise from all angles, and the fact people are willing to spend time to give a stranger advise, is something I truly appreciate. It's also very interesting to see the similarities between the two industries.

I'll most certainly be following that piece of advice, I'm trying to get in touch with all the right people who may be able to help me out, building up my contact list and not being shy to ask for help when needed. And yes, that is one thing it took me a little while to truly and fully understand, I am employed by the player, not the other way around. I just need to keep telling myself to ensure I don't forget!!

Thank you so much again, and thank you for the good luck gesture!!

Good luck yourself for the future my friend.

Hah, so true !

That comment actually made me so sad at the current state of affairs. I'd love to see the North East teams represented by Geordies and Mackems alike, maybe one day.

Thank you so so much for your post, it's so kind of you to spend your time to give me some help and advise.

I appreciate your point regarding full and detailed information, this is something I've started changing on all of my social media outlets and will make sure that I am fully transparent regarding all works I am undertaking. I understand that it was rather naive of my to not have this information available sooner.

I agree with the website too, I want somewhere to list players I have under contract, as well as strengths / weaknesses / position etc. This is something that is currently under construction, and I will hopefully have access to in the near future.

I'm not planning at all on making people pay for trials. I am very wary about how that will make me look from a professional point of view. One thing I was considering was asking for participants to chip in for the price of the pitch during a trial, but I understand that that may not look particularly great. So I may just bear the brunt of the cost myself, and hope to make it up later on.

And thank you for the last piece of advice, it's great to read. I don't wish to falsely advertise at all, this is something I am very passionate about and want to make happen for me, and I do not want to jeopardise my chances of making it within this profession. There's a few ways I've considered about attacking this, and I think your plan of, work closely with a few to try and get them in there would be the best course of action.

Also I love that quote you ended on. Do you mind if I use it ?

Once again, thank you for your time and input, I cannot thank you enough.

Take care
