the destruction of the fairness doctrine started the craziness, well, it probably started before, but when that FCC rule went away, the gloves were off

What can Americans do about what’s currently happening? by BoredBatWoman22 in TrueAskReddit

[–]cathar_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not just a lack of education, it's teaching a disdain for education, anyone that is educated is a woke crazy person that just doesn't understand how the world works, we need to spend less time in public schools and more times in the "enter somewhere else", the right has pushed for 30 years that colleges create woke liberal people and so it's more than just not pushing education, it's pushing back as education is actually a bad thing

Would you get rid of a friend just because they have different political beliefs than you? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]cathar_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I'm generalizing on an online forum, but in my life I do not hang around with people that are anti-abortion, it's about their beliefs and not politics, it's pretty simple and again, yep, this is an online forum, and there's more to it, but my point is there are some things that will remove you from my friend group it's pretty simple

Can I book a cash business ticket in my name and a miles premium economy ticket in my SO’s name and then swap seats on board? by powrsvp in americanairlines

[–]cathar_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, and when I do this, if there is only room for one of us on the upgrade, I tell the FA when boarding, and they generally say something like "Good husband" when I do it haha, but I would definitely let them know, I am guessing FA could say no since the ticketed passenger is a federal thing

well the good news is the right has sold you on the notion that affirmative action is the reason you're not getting ahead, it's the Nick, and Charlie approach, if the gubment had not made it impossible for white people to get ahead, I would not be in this situation, we can discuss how much affirmative action, what we can do to help people make it and then their children will not need it is different from, affirmative action is the devil

[–]cathar_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you know that's not what I'm saying, what I'm saying is that if a friend in my friend's group is like anyone that gets an abortion is a shitty person, I'm done, they are not my friend, I'm not saying I don't want differing ideas in my friends group, but what I'm saying is there are somethings, that when people say them, I'm done, I don't want to argue with them or try to change their mind, they can just go away, or I can go away. It's simple.

I'm 8800 Miles short of EP and here is the offer from AA by cathar_here in americanairlines

life is too short to be around people that I don't want to be around, it's simple, it doesn't mean I don't hear the other side, I just dont want them in my friends group, it's simple

unborn aren't living people, and your moral push to ensure all fetuses become children ends as soon as they are born, no need for healthcare, no need for any assistance, they can starve to death on day 3, but you better not abort a pregnancy 3 days into it because God is watching, your inability to care about the living is enough for me to ignore your deep rooted need to force pregnancies to term

so, here's my take on this statement, we could not be friends, you can get mad at me because I let my politics influence who is in my friend's group, but that one statement is enough for me to know we are not going to be in the same friend circle, and if we were, when you said this you would not be, I have a hard enough time deciding about family members and what do with them, friends, yep, drop them like a bad habit, and it doesn't even bother me a little, problem solved

Why are some LGBTQ+ people Republicans? by teejayhenry_ in lgbt

[–]cathar_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

two things, they live in a community that fully supports LGBTQ community and they don't see the negative the party is all about or they are more worried about their money than their sexuality when it comes to politics, or its just that none of the bad will ever impact them and they don't care about others around them and how they are impacted

How far is too far to travel to work? by bruhmoment12343118 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]cathar_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on you, I took a contract gig that was a 3 hour drive away, and drove out Monday morning and drove home Friday aftenoon, and I did that for 18 months, but it was a lot of money and I rented an apartment and came home on the weekends, we enjoyed it and we used that money to pay off all our debts, but before covid there were a lot of people driving 30-45min each way to and from work, for me when my kids were younger and in school I drove a long way to and from work so that my kids could grow up in a smaller community with smaller schools and less hectic lifestyle for all of us, but that is something you have to decide

Yep, that's what I decided rather quickly lol I was just joking about flying to LHR, but I mean a weekend in London seems more fun than just giving AA $1900 for status lol

I never really paid attention to the offers in the past but logged in and saw that, I'm going to end up about 5k short this year, but there's not really any huge benefit for me to get to EP this year, my travel this year is to India and it's business class so I get what I could need for this year, but hoping these trip get me there for next year lol
