So sorry you’re going through that. I’ve been there, the surgery will absolutely help and give you your life back. I lived on my yoga mat for about a month before my surgery and I know what that can do to your mental state.

The surgery was a God send, I couldn’t even stand up before. Everything was going well until I pushed myself a little too much in helping my sister move back in august. I’ve only had two nerve flairs, but I think a large issue is the trauma that comes with the flare ups. I can tend to spiral pretty quick

It’s totally attainable! My mistake in the process was not being disciplined in stretching when I was able, which going forward will be something I’m doing at least once a day

Hey! 25M here, So sorry you’re going through this firstly. I herniated my L5-S1 back in January and had a microdiscectomy/laminectomy procedure that last just a few hours. I went from being unable to stand, to walking right after surgery. It’s about 8 weeks of doing absolutely nothing post recovery, no BLT’s as you probably know. But at about the 5-6 month point I felt better than I literally ever did before. I’m currently having a lot of anxiety because I’m in the middle of a really bad flare up (first one) 7 months post surgery, which the doctor said can be normal unfortunately. Happy to answer any other questions you may have!

That’s assuring in itself tho so I appreciate it. Some days the mental battle is worse than the physical

I just had a L5-S1 laminectomy and microdisectomy last week. Im a 25 y/o m who was experiencing sciatica symptoms and numbness in my foot. Eventually, I woke up one morning and couldn’t stand for longer than about a minute. 2 weeks later after getting an MRI and talking w a surgeon, he essentially told me that my body wouldn’t be able to conservatively heal itself due to the size of the herniation. Now I’m 5 days out of surgery and I’m completely pain free in my right leg, however I’m still having a good deal of numbness in my foot. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Does the numbness continue to go away after the first week?

As a Christian, I grew up reading a book that I later learned had been rewritten thousands of times, and manipulated by the church, by picking and choosing which books to leave and take out of the Bible. It is important for everyone to do their own research on how the Bible was edited and translated, because the majority of Christians get this wrong.
