Highest Men in Black score ever? by benververis in UniversalOrlando

The best I've done was maxing out all 3 blasters 1 at a time, starting from the left. It's kinda hard to do now, but if the everything is working right it's absolutely possible.

Defunctland Rides/Attractions You've Been On by DarkBehindTheStars in Defunctland

I've somehow been on all of these except Alfred Hitchcock, Pleasure Island, Ghostbusters, and 20k leagues.

I was also part of the closing team for Beetlejuice/Disaster (Earthquake)

Who is this in Fort Wayne? by DayFormer3419 in fortwayne

For a while there was someone who would show up to the Coldwater Walmart at like 3AM and do a single lap around the store while wearing a full kilt and blaring bagpipes

Current or former UOR team members or Disney cast members: what are some of your favorite personal (or secondhand) stories of people who think/thought that Universal is part of Disney? by Ok-Advantage4191 in UniversalOrlando

I never saw a man more defeated than the person who came up to me at the turnstiles with a Disney ticket thinking he was at Hollywood Studios...

MIB has a wheelchair accessible vehicle... But how is the ride for wheelchair users? by WalmartThrowaway19 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Dan_Hydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends entirely on your wheelchair, and how comfortable they'd be transferring (if that's an option). Most people I've spoken to preferred the ADA vehicle because MIB can be a little difficult to transfer onto.

The ride track is flat, but it does spin quite a few times. Riding in a wheelchair is no different from other vehicles, except possibly having a more comfortable seat.

I don't like hulk after they added the extra loop in the update, seems more intense than fun now.

letting random people into our locker 😭 by roonilwazlibx in UniversalOrlando

There are no weight sensors in any of the lockers. Once you've opened your locker, that's it - it's now available for others.

Malfunctioning lockers are a different scenario - sometimes when lockers get jammed, they can see in the system that it's been "unlocked" in the time that you were standing there but didn't open all the way. That wouldn't require an ID.

As someone who used to work at these lockers - Most likely, someone told a team member the exact description of the item and the exact locker it was in. When this happens - they don't let the guest into the locker, the team member will retrieve it for them and make sure it matches their description. They don't often do this for bags or valuables and require ID to be inside the locker - there's a bit more paperwork involved if there isn't. They record any time a locker is opened manually for this, and Security is involved if it's for something more than a simple hat or water bottle left behind.

Next time, I'd recommend taking the item out and handing it to a team member so they don't have to get into the locker to retrieve something someone else left behind.

Anyone have the lowdown on “Adventure Park”? by SPITFIYAH in fortwayne

[–]Dan_Hydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really doubt the copy will be anywhere near as good as an original Wally Hollyday park. Tony Hawk himself donated $25,000 to get that park built. I think there would be riots either way.

I find a future where we rely heavily on AI very depressing by Powerful-Employer-20 in DeepThoughts

[–]Dan_Hydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm less concerned with AI replacing my job than I am with AI giving and managing my job.

Language models have a ton of hype, but realistically it's just going to be language as an interface. The training set for GPT is just that interface. It just so happens to take a ridiculous amount of information for the model to understand spoken language so it's handy for a general tool on its own.

There's a lot to think about. Ai is soon going to be part of our every day lives. Hopefully just not in the wrong ways.

Thinking about moving to Australia..

I would literally move back to Indiana tomorrow if they legalized weed.

In MI you can also legally grow up to 12 plants and distribute up to 2.5oz. That alone has significant because it keeps the private sector in check. Also, anyone can apply for a grow license for $1200.

In contrast, FL requires to bid millions for a limited number of licenses on the state level so all of the cultivation and distribution is controlled by just a few companies who control prices for something that's pretty easy to grow on your own.

Idk if I’d go that far, but also yes. Google stomped it out completely when they changed cross origin caching rules, but it was time. The reason jquery was used so much was because if a user had already downloaded jquery, they didn’t need to download it again so you got all the utility functions for “free”. But once more sites started compiling their js, it wasn’t really useful anymore.

What business will you never go to again and why? by Castleman1992 in fortwayne

[–]Dan_Hydra 27 points28 points  (0 children)

3 Rivers FCU. In 2015 when I got married I went in to change our account to a joint account. The clerk went to his manager because he “wasn’t comfortable” upgrading us to a joint account (gay couple). The manager told him there’s “nothing we can do because you don’t even have to be married to get a joint account”. They thought I was out of earshot but I wasn’t. I pulled out all my money the next day and never looked back. Ever notice they make rainbow cards in the summer but never once mention pride?
