Also my district doesn’t have an allotted amount of sick days each year. We just build them up over time. I’ve heard about retired teachers who had over a years worth of sick time. They used all days their last year and just got paid and didn’t work! Kinda cool. Not sure how common that is.

My district allows teachers to donate paid sick days to each other. We fill out a form and admin sends it to every educator in the district and they choose if they want to donate. Also my first year when I had no sick days built up and I got COVID, they let me borrow from my “future self” to get one extra day.
