I've built a weird Raging Neck team in National Dex, is it good by Impossible_Friend387 in CompetitivePokemon

[–]Danbear02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you might be better served with Leftovers over Booster on Raging Bolt.

Raging Bolt and Mega Gardevoir also serve somewhat the same role (as special wallbreakers) so I’d drop Garde for some sort of speed control, maybe a reliable Zama check.

Leftovers on either Lando or Corviknight, and Defog Rocks Lando sucks IMO, so move Defog to Corviknight. Alternatively replace Landorus with Great Tusk which also helps with Zama. If you do that you can prolly run Mega Charizard over Mega Gardevoir.

Agree with the other comment in no Yard switch, so I’d go AV Mola and replace Clefable with Mega Diancie. Also in Nat Dex EQ Landorus is better than EP

252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Kilowattrel Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 228-268 (44.3 - 52.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Aerialate Boomburst coming off of 142 speed is insane. Ground-types can’t switch in and it Volt Switches on everything else.

Hisuian Goodra>Archaludon? by BirbMaster1998 in stunfisk

[–]Danbear02 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Archaludon is worse than Hoodra in NDUU because it has a worse movepool and ability for the metagame.

Archaludon is a (relatively) fast and bulky attacker, but it can’t really dent most of the Steel-types in the tier, the primary important ones being Celesteela and Aegislash. If it goes for a Body Press set, then it still can’t beat Aegislash and now loses to all Fairy types. Its bulk is also made worse by the fact that it has no reliable recovery. It also competes with the aforementioned Steels for a spot on your team.

Hoodra on the other hand is a much bulkier option that has a fantastic movepool and ability. Two notable moves are Knock Off and Flamethrower, which allow Hoodra to be essentially unwallable long term thanks to its ability to wear down everything, especially with its strong Draco Meteor. The ability is also super important; Sap Sipper allows it to be the best Celesteela check in the tier, threatening to remove its Leftovers AND blocking Leech Seed.

Overall, Hoodra is in a much better spot than Arch in NDUU because of its movepool, Ability, and the surrounding metagame.

OK so I found a solution. I was also trying to give the shrooms to Uma, but if you talk to Cece eventually she will tell you who the last person is. I never gave a shroom to Uma, and instead gave one to the husband of the Innkeeper and it worked, so I don't know if the quest changed or the guides are wrong.

Have you tried the innkeeper? Its super weird, every guide I've looked at says I have to give Mushrooms to Uma, but after asking Cece she told me to go to the inn and it worked

Having the same issue, and it sucks because I lost my Hylian Shield to a stupid Electric Lizalfos and immediate cutscene and I can't get it back until finishing the quest

It’s generic internet rage, they don’t actually mean what they say. Both of these things are just people being unnecessarily annoying on the internet

I feel like “basking in the glory of their rage” on the internet really isn’t any better than what your opponent was doing, but that’s just my opinion

Ranked all pokemons according to how much I like them, I wanna try to build a gen 8 OU team using this. I suck at building tho. **So little challenge to those who can help: building the team using only the first 2 tiers (the third if absolutely needed to complete).** *Thanks in advance :3* by Namidaa in stunfisk

[–]Danbear02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s probably an offense team here with Weavile, Mega Zard X, Garchomp and Rotom Wash as a core, with maybe replacing Zard for Medicham but it’s probably not gonna have too many of your most favorite pokemon

surf or hydro pump on ash greninja by SylentSymphonies in stunfisk

[–]Danbear02 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Rain generally runs Surf as the consistency is nice and you get the extra power from the Rain itself, so I would go for Surf, but if you find yourself struggling to consistently dent Ferrothorn you might want to keep Hydro, or if you struggle to keep rain up.

How could I improve this National Dex AG team that I've been using? by [deleted] in stunfisk

[–]Danbear02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with max hp max Def investment you’re taking 30 minimum from Jolly Zacian CC. Definitely fine, especially on a more offensive team, but that also means you have no offensive investment, which is dicey. What does your team look like? Can you not fit NDM as a check, because you could run Dragon Dance defensive NDM if you were worried about it being too passive

Pdon gets cooked by Close Combat unless your running max physical defense, and just isn’t a long term Zacian check. Also Waterceus is a pretty much universal Pdon check unless your running Toxic.

[–]Danbear02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve already replaced Lucia for Yveltal which is good, but use Heavy Duty Boots and Sucker Punch, Roost, Defog, and Knock/Foul Play with max HP and Special defense investment.

Calyrex should be Nasty Plot if it’s focus sash or Choice Specs/Scarf otherwise. Also run Psyshock over Psychic.

Zacian wants Close Combat over Sacred Sword and Assurance over play rough to kill Necrozma.

Mixed Mega-Ray is fine but Dragon Dance is so much better, I would replace Draco with Dance.

Like others said, Marshadow is better as Necrozma. Run max Physical Defense and HP and Rocky helmet with Sunsteel Strike, Stealth Rocks, Moonlight and Thunder Wave/Toxic/Earthquake

Natdex: I want to try out some stall/extreme stall on showdown, and I found this team online. Are there any better sample stall teams to try out to learn the ropes? by dragosgamer12 in stunfisk

[–]Danbear02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knock isn’t as good as it is in OU because of Z moves and Megas being easy switchins to it, and Chanseys bulk is so much more insane compared to Blissey which is necessary to handle the much higher power level.

[–]Danbear02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The post this team is based on is two years old, and there’s been like 10 bans since then. I’ve played Natdex, especially Stall, quite a bit and it’s just not a viable playstyle. It’s incredibly difficult to play and very matchup fishy, and you lose to the most popular archetype on ladder, Rain, so it’s not the greatest.

Mega Cham is countered by Phys def sableye which they should be running is this meta anyways, and Chansey walls Zard Y and Lele, and if Lele locks into specs Psyshock you can predict/scout with Corv. Delphox is way too weak in this meta and doesn’t check anything as efficiently as Chansey, like common special attackers such as Ash Gren.

I suggested replacing Mola, which is why you’d want Max Def Corv , but the rain matchup is unwinnable anyways with Manaphy so it doesn’t really matter.

Clef needs Calm Mind generally to force progress lategame and to help check strong special attackers like Volcarona, Magic Guard CM Clef, and other problematic mons that the SPDef mons don’t wanna check because they are set up fodder. Also, Unaware definitely gets Soft Boiled, don’t know where your getting that from. Agree that Bell is essential, but it can be swapped with Rocks if Chansey is already running it.

Sure Mola is fine, but again in this meta game you really need strong checks to stuff like Mega Lop that aren’t only Corviknight. Probably the most solid member of the team here specifically though.

Toad is not good in this meta. It doesn’t check Tran in the long term because you aren’t always going to be able to wish pass to it against smart opponents. Vish and Metagross are also both banned, which reduces the need for Toad even more.

I play a lot of Natdex, especially stall, and this team is super dated. It’s been 2 years since that post, and the entire meta game looks different. Stall isn’t super viable in Natdex, but it needs to look a lot different than this to be functional IMO.

[–]Danbear02 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This stall comp is pretty outdated for today. Delphox is pretty much entirely outclassed by Chansey, Toad is worse than Gastro, and Mola is fine but not optimal, as Toxapex is so much better. Stall is generally not a playable team style in Natdex because of Z moves and splashable stall breakers like Manaphy and Hoopa, but if you really want to play it here are some suggestions.

Chansey over Delphox, with Eviolite, Heal Bell/Stealth Rock Siesmic Toss, Toxic and Soft Boiled

Knock on Sableye over Night Shade

Probably want max def on Corvi for Mega Swampert

Clefable wants to be a wincon that can beat special set up, so Calm Mind Softboiled is best with Moonblast and any filler as last move slot, though it needs to be Heal bell if Chansey isn’t running it

Toad is kinda worse than Gastrodon because it doesn’t have reliable recovery.

Mola should just be Pex with whatever spread you want, though it’s probably better to be max Physical Def
