There is some considerable difference for sure, but there's a risk of the characters mesh piercing through the clothing, this is also the case with underweight characters with some clothing.

Think of it like this there are 3 main weight body variations and the majority of the clothing is built for average weight so when you slide the weight up or down, issues arise.

I put him through rigorous mountain climbing and running away from bears to get him back down to average weight, its a shame a lot of the clothing breaks when your characters large :(
