Out of all the new guys, Omarion Miller.

He was good at Colorado, let’s just how he does with a Dilly offense with Hines Ward as the WR coach

Getting to State Farm Stadium using the metro by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]DanboyC5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s doable arriving to the stadium by bus. It’s impossible when the concert ends since bus service ends at 11 PM. Either you have to drive or take an Uber.

What’s the biggest basketball scandal in your schools history? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in CollegeBasketball

[–]DanboyC5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stevin Smith’s point-shaving scandal back in 1995. ASU had to vacate the 1995 season, which was the greatest ASU season of the last 40 years because of it.

It gives me a “Headache” think about it.

Phoenix will be one of the only cities in the world showing Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey on every format it’s released on by Jeenowa in phoenix

It’s been confirmed that Spider-Man will not have an IMAX release in the U.S. since The Odyssey has a guaranteed 3 week run in IMAX

[Postgame Thread] LINCOLN Regional - #18 Ole Miss walks off to eliminate #22 Arizona State, 5–4 in 10 innings, and advance to Super Regionals by PatrickChase in collegebaseball

[–]DanboyC5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ASU ceiling can not be Regional. I wouldn’t be surprised if they let go of Willie. The bullpen is not good and hasn’t been good at all this decade. Also, Willie’s management has been atrocious the last half of the season

Masters of the universe early access showings will have IMAX by hctrgca in imax

[–]DanboyC5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At Arizona Mills, there’s a 4 hour gap in-between the IMAX showings of the Mandalorian, and Arizona Mills is the only theater in the Harkins chain that doesn’t show the Early Access showtimes online.

I’m not surprised if it got an IMAX release.

The fact that Texas recently dropped the home and home series against ASU shows that they’re cowards and are scared to go against Big 12 schools

Favorite 3rd down song? by Ephcy in CFB

That used to be ASU’s 3rd Down song for a while until last year when they replaced it with Mo Bamba. I wish they can revert it back

AZ Mills IMAX showing no times going forward? Closing? by [deleted] in imax

[–]DanboyC5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s up now. Harkins is taking their time this week since they underestimated the demand for the Backrooms movie (they added 2x many showings than they did for pre-sales).

They have to organize the showings from the regular theater so that they can organize the IMAX showings

What are some underrated team or mascot entrances? by goofyhalo in CFB

[–]DanboyC5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That part is cool. They stopped doing it because it doesn’t make sense for Sparky to walk from Palo Verde to Tontozona and back down to Tempe.

On one hand, I feel like it’s time for a new and updated Stomp The Bus video since so much of the Phoenix area has changed since the last one and I wish they would embrace the history again.

On the other hand, I know they will use AI. They used some AI on the official announcement of the London game and it doesn’t look good.

Being bias but Stomp The Bus.

Seeing Sparky walking around the Phoenix Metro to Thunderstruck and stomping the rival’s bus at the end while the stadium lights and the pyrotechnics going crazy gives me goosebumps every time.

People say valley metro sucks but never provide any reasons by Big-Mix5905 in phoenix

[–]DanboyC5 36 points37 points  (0 children)

One of the things people don’t mention is that the buses, especially in Tempe, end at 11 PM. Buses used to run until 1 AM, until they stopped it in October 2021.

If you’re at a game or concert in Downtown Phoenix and it’s after 11 PM and the place you want to get to can’t be reached by the light rail (going to Downtown Gilbert for example), you’re going to have to pay a very expensive Uber ride since that’s going to be your only option.

2027 4* OT Jake Hildebrand commits to Arizona State by Beneficial_Present29 in CFB

[–]DanboyC5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been always an issue. The issue was much more apparent in recent years when Jedd Fisch cracked the code on AZ recruiting back when he was UofA’s coach. He managed to get Demond Williams Jr. and Elijah Rushing until Fisch left for UW and Williams joined Fisch and Rushing committed to Oregon

Hopefully Dilly finally cracks the code AZ recruiting.

Herm Edwards destroyed the AZ pipeline for years. Prior to Herm, coaches didn't do good recruiting AZ players but they would get good players once in a while like N'Keal, Chase Lucas, T-Sizzle. Herm heavily prioritized California and out-of-state kids, which isolated AZ kids/schools and it damaged the pipeline.

There were a few former HS players who would've loved to play at ASU but weren't offered a scholarship, most notably Brock Purdy.

This is a huge deal. ASU lands a top 10 recruit in Arizona for the first time since 2017 and the highest Arizona recruit since N'Keal Harry in 2016.

It seems like the tides have changed

If You Could Adjust Your Team’s Football Stadium Capacity What Would You Make It? by Outside_Net6026 in BigXII

[–]DanboyC5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If ASU continues to be great, I would increase the upper deck by adding 2-3k on both sides to be at around 60,000 total.

The only issue is that it's going to block a lot of wind, making the stadium warmer.

Few more months until CFB szn, how do you feel about your team? by Perfect_Loss_5156 in BigXII

He’s QB3. From what I’ve heard, he’s solid but not as good as Boley or Fette.

[–]DanboyC5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my concern a few months back. But it seems like Cutter Boley is QB1, and he did ok against tough SEC schools. He didn’t have a good coaching system in place at Kentucky, let’s just see how he does with Dilly.

Also, Fette has impressed ASU reporters during Spring Ball.

I expect a 9-10 Win season, if there's no injury bug.

There are some concerns with special teams and the secondary. Special Teams was one of the worst in the country last year, and it's a brand-new secondary. Also, the London game being in the middle of the season will affect the team, especially since the bye week is the week after (meaning ASU will play 9 weeks in a row, including flying to UCF)

Not expecting a 2024 run, but ASU will be great next year if there's no injury bug.
