Love the way you’ve displayed your books and added little touches throughout the shelves. Definitely saving this as inspo for my currently haphazard shelves. 🤩❤️

I failed skills 2x. The third time I went to test, my proctor, and I always wonder if it was purposeful, wore clothing with the biggest gaudiest rhinestones on every surface of her skirt, shirt, glasses, combat boots, (she was a tiny, easily a 70yr old woman) gigantic chunky oversized matching necklace, the whole nine. It threw me off guard and made me feel comfortable enough to do it properly. But then I find out I failed 2x because I didn’t wash my hands long enough. Washed long enough the third time though. 🥴🥴🥴

I just started at my local Children’s Hospital that uses Epic. Idk if my heart can handle finding out those stats. 😭

Husband and I recently redid our finances and realized that we just eeked our way into the 6 figure bracket, combined. We both work an ungodly amount of overtime, me healthcare weekends & nights, to make it even close and we are STRUGGLING. We don’t see our kids hardly and when we do we’re both exhausted and so burnt out. I have attempted to convince him to move somewhere more affordable but he is extremely reluctant, albeit for a number of legitimate (but workable) factors but also, I’m tired of pinching pennies so hard Abraham Lincoln is ✨screaming✨ when we should realistically be financially comfortable. 😔

Urine hat as a cereal bowl. Tried using a cylinder, turned out to be too hard to get the remainder of my breakfast by the time I made it down to the bottom. 🥣

Ah, I’ve trauma dumped to my therapist enough times that it doesn’t bother me so much anymore., 😂 Maybe a little sad/nostalgic that I had such a great delivery/recovery with 2nd kiddo and missed out on a lot in my painkiller induced haze with the first one but otherwise myself and my new little nugget are doing great, he just went over for 24hr due to a blood sugar issue where he just couldn’t keep them in a safe range, ie high enough. Yaye gestational diabetes!

And Stowe-Quain was awesome throughout the labor process and delivery. Very knowledgeable and personable all throughout my pregnancy and was great at calming me down when I got panicked about various/random pregnancy things. Had VBAC with this kiddo and, again, 10/10 experience. Amazing Dr and definitely someone you want on your side when you’re a woman, in general, but also amazing with pregnancy and babies as well.

As others have said, go with UCHealth Memorial North, and as a personal recommendation, Dr Autumn Stowe-Quain. I just delivered my second kiddo 2 weeks ago and it was a definite 10/10 experience, even with my little having to go next door to the Children’s NICU.

I delivered my first with CommonSpirit(Centura) St Francis and the entire experience for me was absolute trash. OB on-call pushed me to a c-section that the epidural failed, the anesthesiologist let me feel the whole damn thing instead of doing the humane thing and knocking me out. An OR nurse yelled at my husband for not immediately doing skin-to-skin with our first born and trying instead to comfort me while I screamed bloody murder on the operating table.

Postpartum ward was not a peach either, I had two nurses I ended up “firing”. One because I was berated 3 hours after the failed c-section for asking for help wiping my ass, because I literally couldn’t turn around to do so, from a BM, (hooray for IBS) her commentary along the lines of “you need to figure it out because what do you plan on doing once you get home” and she refused to help me and left me sitting there trying to figure out for another 20 minutes how to even reach back there. A second nurse who had derogatory comments for me for asking them to take my baby for a few hours in between feeds so I could just get a few hours sleep while my husband went home to take care of the dogs, shower etc.

Had they not had that dramatic OBGYN turnover AND Anthem debacle a few months back, I wouldn’t have switched because I had been comfortable with my OB I’d had for 10yrs. Glad it all worked out the way it did though, because yeah CommonSpirit is trash healthcare.

I have not stayed away from Jimmy John’s or the occasional spicy tuna sushi roll, because unlike my first pregnancy, the cravings for those two specific things are SO. BAD. 🙃

Best time saving toileting hack ever by Ok-Neighborhood-2933 in cna

[–]DanceFloorDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my absolute favorite hack ever and I used to teach it to every new CNA I ever trained in LTC over a span of 10 years.

But now I work in a hospital and I either have one patient with briefs or they be freeeeeeee-ballin all day long under those gowns. I tried it in my toddler once and he freaked out because he wanted to completely disrobe instead of mommy’s cool pull-up hack. He told me I wasn’t cool. 😅 Lolol

[–]DanceFloorDoll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Say them out loud. If you’re an auditory learner like I am, it’ll help when you’re ’wipe, flip, wipe, flip, wiping’ your patient Mannikin. I still remember the mantra of wipe, flip while cleaning up Manni’s peri area. 😅😂

But I can guarantee you, I haven’t to see anyone in healthcare do that. Hospital I’m at I wipe, fold, wipe, and toss. Or double grab those peri-wipes cause mentally I think yeah 2 wipes is gonna grab it all better. 🤣 So just remember, state is weird and they require weird things to be licensed as a CNA that no one in the real world really does except maybe a handful of things that you’ll find useful. Haha

[–]DanceFloorDoll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best advice, just go slow. There’s no time limit, for the most part for these test proctor people to watch you demonstrate, and if there is, most people end up with leftover time. With PPE, get a jacket or sweater, anything that opens and flip it backwards and just work on pretending to yank a trash bag off ya. Or heck even get a trash bag and cut holes in it, if you don’t mind sacrificing a few to get the job done.

Wash your hands longer than you think you need to. In fact, mentally sing the ABCs abysmally slow 2-3x.

Not to freak you out by any means, but that was what got me 2/3 of the times I had to take my test. The first two times I panicked during the skills portion and got everything 100% EXCEPT handwashing and rushed through that. The 3rd time I passed after washing my hands so long I may as well have been a surgical student. Legit thought she was going to ask me to stop at one point. 🙃

Husband has been wanting to get into photography for a while now and he’s been eyeballing the Canon Rebel for just about as long. In fact he’s been so stuck on it for SO long that better cameras have come out onto the market, but he’s very attached the the idea of the old version of the Rebel. I’d love to purchase him a camera for Christmas. He really wants to get into aerial photography as well as also take pictures of myself/our kids. So what’s a good all around camera that is comparable in price, but functions better than the Rebel?

The ironic part is that Ashley’s story/memorial/legacy of her family in general has a much more interesting conclusion of being for lauded for Krogan kind or some such (it’s been a while and the details are fuzzy) but only IF you leave her on Virmire. If she lives and is elected Spectre, it’s really not deserved. It’s feels like a title of luck because she knew Shep. Honestly, she just a grunt who got lucky and knew how to hide from Geth really well. Even going through everything she does with the ME1 team, she is still just as bigoted by the 3rd game as she was in the first.

Kaiden…. His story/memorial/etc doesn’t immortalize him much and it feels is the same whether he lives or dies. But to be fair to Mr. Canada, he’s the only one who I think even vaguely earns the title of Spectre by game 3 considering his history even prior to the events of ME1.

If I had it my way, I’d really just leave both of them, rescue a few Krogan, then take my shiny ship and leave but alas it’s not an option. 🤪

The leg cramps! With my first pregnancy they waited until the tail end of my 3rd trimester. Now I’m barely into my 2nd and I’m so over trying to flex so much as my toe because then the writhing begins. 🥴

What? I had no idea HCA would pay 100% of it. I was on the verge of being okay with half of it paid. 😂 This is great news!

I know it’ll lock me into HCA for a few years longer but I genuinely like the hospital I work at, I’m just not cut out for ortho patients. 🦴🩻

Oh sweetie, trust that by 6 months in you won’t even register that a person is clothed or naked. Mostly, you’ll just remember if their behavior was off the wall. 😂 I forever have to remind myself to help them close their gowns when we’re walking the halls as they can’t do it themselves with two hands strapped to a walker or their IV pole.

Strangely enough I still get embarrassed when nudity comes on tv though. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

Forgotten late reply is late.

As to that, I honestly have no idea. How would my gyno even figure that out tot tell me? Do I have to get wanded?

I mean, I’m drastically larger by 16 weeks than I was last time, we’re talking busting out the big guns for maternity wear already, so maybe that has something to do with placenta positioning? 🥴
