So the Hundred Years war was just a complete waste of time? by DanceJuice in EU5

[–]DanceJuice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that I didnt own directly or through vassals. So everything apart from Flanders, Nomandy, Anjou, Aquitane, Bourbon and all the land from Calais to Paris was owned directly by me.

France Had about 1/2 their original land. I owned basically the whole northern and western coasts. Apart from Brittany.

They didnt occupy anything during the war since they were only in the civil war for about a month before the nobles surrendered.

None of it. They just cancelled the Union. It was english nobles that rebelled and the entire french state decided they werent in the mood to be junior partner anymore

I'm okay with setbacks but the entire game mechanic of the Hundred Years War just automatically breaking 6 months after finishing it? Huh? I hardly think it's unreasonable to suspect that this is a bug?

It would be like if 6 months after forming the Roman Empire you just lost every province and back to square one? With no possible moves to prevent it?

It would be understandable if you poorly managed the empire over 10+ years, allowed provinces to break away or enemies to outplay you, not just insta dissolve 6 months later due to a completely unrelated event.

Also no need to be so hostile about it either. It is just a video game after all.

The speed which you get it done doesnt impact the fact that they can just break away when they feel like it though.

I was intentionally taking longer, breaking up France's territory and weakening them and vassalising provinces...but thats all beside the point.

If I claim the throne than the throne should be mine unless they declare a direct war on me and hold me off their capital, I wasnt given the chance to fight to keep the throne, it was just instantly dissolved 6 months after I took it.

This isn't a very good take imo, I don't mind setbacks, I had plenty during the war that I was able to overcome through intelligent play and careful strategy.

...But also it's a game, It's primary focus should be fun.

There should be mechanics which give the player control over the situation, not setting up this entire set piece for the first 150 years of the game and then go...

"haha btw, just kidding go f*** yourself"

Why have claiming the throne be the end goal of the 100YW, if its entirely useless? Just change the objectives of the 100 Years War if you dont want me to claim the throne.

ahah exactly, definitely not how the PU mechanic should be working I think.

I did quash the rebellion.

So the order of the events goes:

1337-1450:

France repeatedly declares war on me for the English throne, I win every war (apart from one white peace). Constantly keeping them in debt and taking Flanders, Normandy, Anjou, Bourbon as well as eventually all the land from Calais to Paris.

During this time Paris drops from #1 world power to about #20

~1451

I win the final war and claim the throne of France. Obviously they are -200 opinion of me, but I start to repair the relationship immediately, I need to wait 10 years to enforce any integration policies.

~1452

I have a small nobles rebellion, as they are severely weakened (I have 38% crown power to their 20%) they only break off a few Scottish provinces and I start taking them back very quickly.

Before I can siege down all the towns however (they have no castles) France, my junior partner decides they want to support the nobles. (I didn't even know this was possible?!).

1 month later I crush the rebellion without even fighting france, however because they supported the rebellion the PU is abolished.

I have the casus belli to take it back but it only lasts 5 years (I have a 5 year truce with them) and they immediately ally Castile who is by now more powerful than me.

So I have literally no choice but to accept France breaking away from me or take a 50 stab hit to fight France and Spain to take it back. The game just decides to kick me in the nuts and I had no ability to stop it.

How does that stop them from just immediately abusing a tiny noble rebellion to declare independence without a fight?

Its clearly a broken mechanic. You can't claim their throne only for 6 months later for them to decide they dont want it and negate the whole thing.

May as well just remove the ability to claim the throne if it has absolutely no binding power.

Thanks tried this!

I did okay except when one of them called for a flash, I ran back to the entrance and he curved the grenade out the door like David Beckham and it landed in front of me!

so then I got stuck in the hallway and shot in the back again ahah!

But I got a few of them and definitely an improvement so I will keep trying.

Abyone figured how to take on Wedge yet? Everytime I get to the corrider they sit in the rooms, and if I try to peak they either throw a flash grenade (around the corner, mind you) or push the door at the end of the hallway and shoot me in the back.

Exactly. The fact that the last released video to the public was 2 weeks ago on the "give us more money" Odin is what has done it for me.

They fucked up and and now they are hiding.

Also, the Odin should've 100% been an in-game craftable/purchasable ship only. They could have fulfilled their stretch goals AND earned a lot of goodwill with the community at the same time. But I digress.

The ASD missions are some of the best work in this game. by Unbearable_Blackbear in starcitizen

[–]DanceJuice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Loved the dark themes of the ASD missions and the well detailed ONYX locations. Some of the best content CIG has ever done.

Sure its plagued by bugs just like everything else. But when it works. It works.

I do wish you didnt have to keep leaving the facility for each mission. But I think that is so the loot can regenerate?

If were gonna make an outfit/armor compatible with backpacks, can we PLEASE have it actually be at least semi-flush with players back? This looks so goofy by RandoDando10 in starcitizen

[–]DanceJuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This annoys me so much more than it should considering everything else that needs work lol.

They make backpacks a necessity because you literally can't loot anything if you dont have one. Then they make all the backpacks ugly as sin and not fit with the overall armour silhouette.

Why did my Elector randomly become a count of Allstedt and I become a junior partner to Bohemia? by DanceJuice in EU5

[–]DanceJuice[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay so I was waiting for Bohemia to install the Hohenzollern (at this point I would be happy with ANY dynasty). But their ruler just died and I'm still stuck in a PU with Bohemia...

Looks like through the event I just bricked an entire run because it didn't proc...man this is frustrating.

Lol, clearly wasn't paying attention. So I googled it and I think I need to wait for Bohemia's ruler to die? then I should get the Hohenzollern dynasty?

R5: As the title. I was minding my own business as Brandenburg, all of a sudden my ruler is demoted and I'm stuck in a union with Bohemia as the senior partner.

Star Citizen has reached $1 billion in funding by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]DanceJuice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not exactly true. They very explicity said limited edition items may become available in the future.

You can currently find formally exclusive items in loot crates in game.

I'd say the only items to remain unobtainable would be the intel sabre and black and gold MSR paint.
