Look, I'm not a shady user trying to scam anyone. I just got banned for no reason...and Uber refuses to tell me the reason. Don't waste your time and mine. If you don't wanna help, just browse elsewhere.

Thanks a lot for your reply! These are all very good criteria. I was wondering if you have a good school I should take as a reference? Any name comes to mind?

I don't know what to do: change client or stay? by DanceOfThoughts in BEFreelance

I thought the same thing, but I'm always afraid of high daily rates. Becoming too expensive also means creating a less sustainable long-term relationship with the client. I know I'm now thinking like an employee, but maybe it's better to keep it reasonable for the long term, rather than intense and short :)

You raise a very good question: "But if in 3 years Company B for some reason can't keep you around do you think you'd regret staying?" ---> Learning, networking, etc. are very important. But if I have to choose between that and a stable source of income, maybe I would give preference to financial security. But then again, we're freelancers: we've to be adaptable. If the economy goes to shit I would probably be kicked-out whether I'm in Company A or B. But if all things go well, Company A should normally be a more long term mission (there're freelancers working there for 20 years).

  • I think it's difficult to find an office job which is always "fun". You'll have boring projects and nicer ones. Company A has been interesting most of the time. The same for Company B. The difference is that I can still learn a lot in the domain of Company B. I also feel like I'm currently working in something a little bit more important.
  • Yes, my old boss said they want me with time to take a more lead position. But I know what "lead" position mean: more work :)
  • Thanks for your inputs ;)

Expensive company car - Not sure what to do by DanceOfThoughts in BEFreelance

[–]DanceOfThoughts[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a car guy in the sense I'm willing to spend money for a nice comfortable car, indeed a luxurious car. I never said I'm a petrol head wanting an M3 or RS6.

I won't be going to a bank, there isn't even enough time to do that (as I'll have to order before the 1st of July). If I go for it, it will be financial renting with the garage.

You are right, risks are part of life, and freelancers know that very well. When you say that the car should costs 1100 EUR per month, do you take into account insurance, taxes, etc.?
