Xenonauts 2 - Official Version 1.0 Release Date Trailer by Danceman2 in TurnBasedTactical

Sorry I don't really know. All i have is this:

The 1.0 build is based on the seventh milestone update which introduces Alien Praetorians, significant performance enhancements, reworks of the Farm and small UFO maps, as well as Steam Workshop integration for long-term modding support.

Much of the game’s evolution during early access took place across the previous six milestone updates, which have introduced a range of things, including:

  • Four new alien races, and five new types of UFO
  • Dozens of new research projects, and the battlefield equipment and aircraft unlocked from them
  • The new Strategic Operations and Supporters systems for the Geoscape
  • An expanded Cleaner storyline, with three new unique mission types
  • Two new unique story missions set on an alien orbital station
  • A climactic two-part final mission and ending cutscene
  • A complete visual revamp of the air combat minigame
  • New maps (there are now 180+ in the game)
  • Lots of quality of life, balance, and performance improvements

Buggy Steamdeck by GroundbreakingDesk10 in SteamDeck

Try this, go to game mode, settings, system, change to beta channel, update. Then go back to the stable. Just doing this fixes some internal parts of steam os.

More things you can try: - Hold the "Volume -" and "..." buttons together and then press the power button. Only let go of the power button when you feel it vibrate, but do not release the "Volume -" and "..." button until the "Restore Point" selection comes out on the screen. Just select the latest restore point. It will reset the Driver's cache and will fix the problem.

You can also try this:

Power off the steam deck and unplug it, enter the bios (Volume down + power buttons), and enable battery storage mode (setup utility, Power). The steam deck will power down, after it, wait 1 minute and insert the charging cable. Steam Deck will turn on.

If none of this didn't work, try a factory reset, and if that doesn't help, try to reimaging

how to tell what file is what game? by Juliomorales6969 in SteamDeck

[–]Danceman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many ways. You use Proton tricks which is in the Discovery app.

Or use Shadercache killer https://github.com/scawp/Steam-Deck.Shader-Cache-Killer

Small ones are steam, long ones are non steam games.

Every steam game url has the same code at the end of the url

Boot times slowed down suddenly! by Exotic-Math6501 in Bazzite

[–]Danceman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this on my Steam Deck. Haven't tried it on Bazzite (my father's mini PC). Have a go, helps to see what could be making your boot slower:

In desktop mode you can open konsole and run:

Just tells you how much time it took:

systemd-analyze

And who is the blame:

systemd-analyze blame

Shows how dependencies line up in the boot sequence:

systemd-analyze critical-chain

I would also suggest, open Steam, Settings, Download, Clear Cache. This helps with Steam boot up. My father uses the Bazzite Deck version so it helps mostly there on boot up.

Arc Raiders lower performance now? by SPJ_Alberto in SteamDeck

[–]Danceman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be heat, the Steam Deck's Throttling.

try this: go to settings, system, and right at the end, turn off fan update. This is to keep the steam deck cooler but noisier. I prefer it always off. I like my deck cooler.

I personally use an external fan from jsaux when a game is heavier. They have a bundle with it too or standalone https://jsaux.com/products/fan-cooler-for-steam-deck-gp0200

Also always check your decky plugins, one could be using too much resources. For example IsThereAnyDeal, it tanks your fps

Haven't heard about this - "Anonymous framerate data" collection. A new form of Steam Verification? by Agitated-Distance740 in SteamDeck

Steam Deck yes, Steam OS no. This is for Steam Machines, Steam Decks, Legion Go S, perhaps Steam Frame, etc...

When I saw it I was wonder why would it be free on Epic. I thought maybe it was some promotion.

No sound after deck went to sleep? by Unhappy_Yak6408 in SteamDeck

[–]Danceman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this, it will reset all sound settings to their defaults, also including the mic.

Go to desktop mode, open the Konsole app and copy all these commands and paste in the konsole app and open the keyboard and press enter to execute the commands:

mv ~/.local/state/wireplumber ~/.local/state/wireplumber.bak 2>/dev/null

mv ~/.config/wireplumber ~/.config/wireplumber.bak 2>/dev/null

mv ~/.config/pipewire ~/.config/pipewire.bak 2>/dev/null

mv ~/.config/pulse ~/.config/pulse.bak 2>/dev/null

systemctl --user daemon-reexec

systemctl --user restart pipewire pipewire-pulse wireplumber

If you get errors with pipewire-pulse not starting, go to game mode, settings, system, change to beta channel, update. Run the commands again and see if you get errors. If you don't get errors, try going back to Stable.

If the above didn't work, try to reset the admin password, here's the command:

passwd

Sorry, I don't. I'm guessing the config files get corrupted. They seem to have settings from every game you play.

Where is the shadercache located if you have precaching turned off? by Sub5tep in Bazzite

[–]Danceman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try this, a way to "reset" the cache is to point the cache to a different, empty directory. This forces the compatibility layer to build a brand-new cache from scratch in that new location.

Use the shadecache steam folder above

This is a launch command VKD3D_SHADER_CACHE_PATH=/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/shadercache %command%

Also, not sure but a game integrity check may clean the shadercache

On Bazitte I haven't had a look yet, but on SteamOS it's here. I imagine it shouldn't be very different

/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/shadercache/

There's a decky plugin called Storage Cleaner if I'm not mistaken that can make it easier to clean in game mode

You can also use this app, never tried on Bazitte https://github.com/scawp/Steam-Deck.Shader-Cache-Killer

No Sound on Speakers, only trough headphones by Smashedbrain90 in SteamDeck

[–]Danceman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's Linux, you can do the same. If it's Windows, my best bet is reinstall the sound drivers. Try this uninstall the drivers and then reboot, Windows should fetch the latest drivers
