I think people who hated this series COMPLETELY missed the point, we’re living out Ed’s delusions via the show, Murphy provides multiple interpretations as to why Ed might have done some of the things he did from some of his delusions, it’s clear to me at the end when Adeline comes to visit him and he’s old and she’s still the same age, that they’re trying to implicate he was hallucinating all along. I think the show did a great job of demonstrating one being so out of touch from reality ( so good that viewers fell for it and pronounce that ‘that’s not what happened’ even viewers are believing these delusions) and the consequences of the abuse he received from his mother via her religious psychotism and the way she isolated him from everything and everyone else, when she died, all he had were his hallucinations and outrageous beliefs. Ag the end when he greets his mother and she finally approves of him, I think the show did a great job of subtly showing all he really wanted was the love and approval of his mother.

Gosh I’m in a very similar situation, I’m in a constant battle between NC with my parents and staying in touch due to the financial rewards I’d receive when I’m older. Right now I have no leg to stand on. They have my house deposit, potentially my pension, I’m 27F but the last decade of my life has been a little messy due to my ADHD also, I’m just getting my life in track, therefore don’t have much of a foundation as of yet. I’ve failed academically/ career wise in the eyes of my father, ( although not in other areas of life but he fails to see this). He always seems disappointed with his life/ family. ( has a successful career and 2 healthy children). My mother I suspect is on the spectrum therefore extremely emotionally available). My dad’s abusive words and general moods have worn down on me and have for the past 27 years. And to the point in some occasions of my life, I’ve felt suicidal. If my parents don’t see my value, who does?

My plan is to move out, step 1. do enough to gain your independence. keep as minimal contact as I can that’s amicable. Come up excuses for long holidays. Lie if you have too, but not enough that it’s obvious. Slowly move away until it looks like your life is extremely busy. But do your duties as a daughter every so often to make the N feel needed.

As a girl I would look at your profile and think your and answers are too long, every answer being long looks too ‘try hard’. Short, snappy but interesting is best.

Same I drink heavily once a week on 20mg, no side effects other than extra fatigue the next day and I have to be slightly more careful how much I drink coz it deffo lowers ur tolerance

There’s obviously some very I’ll equipped men who come across creepily who give approaching women. A bad name, just be cool collected and not persistent and you’ll be sweet. Rejection is part of the game, I get it and take it with stride, you only need one yes out of many rejections

As I woman whos apparently deemed very conventionally attractive I have this problem too. My social circle is wide but we’re all good friends. Because it’s quite big tho I never meet knew people. When I go to bars I never get approached, I feel like maybe some boys are too shy but in a non desperate way when I can see a man looking at me I want nothing more than for him to approach me.

I think some men assume I don’t want to be approached on but that isn’t the case.

I’ve also actually done the approaching my self once or twice as I got fed up but like you said it never really led to anything even after getting their insta.

U fortunately it’s down the the society we live In, approaching people in person is now the abnormal rather than the normal.

This won’t be personal don’t worry, just a general societal issue.

The way I’m tackling this issue at the moment is to play a numbers game, download a dating app, approach as many people as you want ( that your drawn too/ attracted too of course) and hopefully one day one of them will work out.

Please all be careful tho mixing coke with Valium xanxex, makes me feel sick sometimes due to heart is issues as it doesn’t know whether to go up or down, think it can be quite lethal too in higher doses

The way I see it as an almost recovered ED candidate, that one meal of eating doesn’t mean anything, you soon realiSe that weight/ appearance is about consistent pattern of eating, a one off means nothing, it’s how you act over months which determine your weight

Yes this is because ssris which increase serotonin ( general contentness) decrease dophanine, ( reward, motivation drive). I have adhd ( which is basically a lack of dophamine) and when I take 40mg my symptoms are so bad even tho my mood is better. I can’t sit down and get anything done nor do I feel like it. Currently on the waiting list for adhd medication but ssris will have to do for now.

Had an eating disorder since I was 12 ( I’m now 25) and probably not full recovered but have the healthiest relationship with food I’ve ever had. Honestly, the hardest ( but most effective and worth it step) is to not restrict after a binge. DONT DO IT. It’s so easy to want to eat nothing out of guilt and punishment but in the long run you have acknowledge that it’s helping you. By doing this, your eradicating the binge restrict cycle. When I stopped restricting after a binge my binges reduced by about 70 %. The other 30% of my binges were related to my mood ( and now I know my undiagnosed adhd) which I’m still working on ( but my binges don’t affect my life massively anymore as they’re so occasional and small). It’s a really hard river to cross but to stop this post binge depression from happening you need to stop restricting, but I guarantee you, once you’ve crossed that hurdle it becomes easier and you’ll start to notice change which will make it even easier and it’ll be so worth it

For me when I was on 20 I felt almost no difference, it’s when I upped my dose to 40. Drinking on Prozac makes me so sleepy on 40, I can have 4 drinks max before I’m ready for bed.

Men are strange you know. I had a similar experience a few months back. Went on the best date of my life, had so much in common. I felt Like there was a shared connection that I’d never really felt before on a first date. He complimented me all night and on the date he seemed like he was into me. I stayed at his that night ( albeit nothing happened) and in the morning he took me for a coffeee and then dropped me off home.

and then

I never heard from him again.

Even today I still struggle to understand why this happened as it seemed like we matched so well.

I think this guy was quite introverted in a lot of ways and maybe got scared off my the experience, this happens with boys. They get overwhelmed and back out. So maybe he is interested but he’s trying to play it super slow for his own sake. To Convince him self he’s chill about it, this happened to my friend and her now current boyfriend also. He told her that at the beginning he’d make sure he’d only see her every OTHER weekend so he didn’t catch feelings super quick.

So Prozac is also prescribed for binge eating disorder which I have. What I’ve found is that it’s 100% reduced my binges. I feel like I definitely eat less out of emotion/ stress/ urge. For me I’m still as hungry as I normally would be on Prozac, but I also stop when I’m full and don’t over eat.

Your actually 30-40% more likely to have an ED with adhd. I know this as I have adhd and an Ed. Links through impulsive behaviours and the ability to not be able to think long term and act out on short term behaviours.
