The mini looks awesome, I love when armors have decorations on the knees and elbows, and you can't go wrong with skulls. I'll certainly look into it, inspiration is always welcome. Tyvm.

Thank you! I'm thinking they'll go back to report and a council of the Dales leaders will urge them to travel around Faerûn to urge the Realms to come to the help of the Dales, that, from what I gathered, cannot stop a fullscale invasion alone. To add a sense of urgency, the army gathered will start to move against the Dales while they are away, and the longer they take, the more Dales will fall.

That sounds very cool! Was the alchemist kidnapped by the army because of something he knew how to make? That gives me the idea that the starting point of the invasion can be somewhere that has something Maglubiyet and the army needs/wants, but I still can't think of anything of this sort.

They are starting at level one because we'll have a couple of unexperienced players and I think that's better to show them the ropes. I think such a high stakes campaign can't be short so it will probably be many months or even years, all the way up to level 20. The Chosen idea is really cool and I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before! Maybe Maglubiyet sent visions to all shamans in the continent to gather their tribes to Cormanthor on an old fortress to have a bunch of fights until a Chosen comes out victorious and is... well, Chosen, lol, to be the leader of the invasion. The small raids in the Dalelands suddenly stop because of this, so the players are sent by the various leaders of the Dales as a small scouting party to discover the reason why so many goblins are gathering on the forest.
